Demon Players

Postby Anthony Roberts » Tue Apr 27, 2004 6:05 pm

Of course, we all know what goes on with the Players department. Will they accept another player to join soon? Will they laugh and scheme completly for awhile, with the superstitious people running around scared? We will never know.

Overall statistics:
Number of players: 666
Number of characters: 3418

How rude...
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. It is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Only I will remain.

Whats more worrying is when the first customer you serve in a day in a shop gets goods worth £6.66. Luckily, the day wasn't a very bad one...

That number comes up more often than it should.

Not Superstition. Tax. Tax and commerce is evil.

6% tax rate.

Business like to have prices that are mentally low than are.

0.99 instead of a simple 1.00.

about six units is a normal price for a meal

1.33 for this - a good price
.99 for that
.99 for the other
.99 for that extra you don't need
.99 oh..two of those then
.99 and a drink

6.28

with 6% tax

6.66.

Sometimes 97 cents gets you there too and other things work with 5.5% tax etc.

It is a combination of mental pricing with tax added. A cocincidence really of two things. Plus you always notice 6.66 and not 1.05 (0.99 + 6%).

Buy 6.12 everytime you go in. With the outfit and all that should creep them out the rest of the day.

What is that two happy meals and an ice cream? Evil.

Would work if the prices here werent exactly what you pay(so you have to just choose things that add up to it!). Still, it crops up more often than you would expect. So does £2.43.

Don't do it intentionally, us shopkeepers get freaked out by many things...

Well, we get used to a few of them. When you only work one day a week, it takes longer. The worst are the patronising ones who come in once in their lives and think they can order you around. WRONG, sorry!

One pair tried to bite my head off for telling them their car alarm was going off, and then for not calling then "sir" and "madam" which I never do. Its not their title, so I dont call them it.

And the half drunk, half-stoned underage arseholes (sorry, best word I could think of! Please forgive me!) who come in and expect you to sell them alcohol and tobacco when they are clearly under 16, let alone 18! And who nver carry proof of age even when they ARE of age.
