Character Features
Very simple things. Such as height, probably also in the metric system, or the translations could be added in for the languages. Eye color. Hair color, hair type (long, mid, short), facial hair(probably a good idea not to put on female pages.) Many things could be put on here, but it's just a suggestion.

Only problem with that would be for already made characters that have descriptions already. And for those who want to make characters appear a certain image...

This has been suggested before and for new characters it would be good if those attributes depended on genetics, but for existing characters it's better to allow the players to something that fits their mental image of the character. Also there are some players who think that detailed appearances would ruin the game, so they must be given the option to keep their characters undetailed and create a filter that makes them unable to see those features on others. Also some people want to allow unnatural colors such as blue and pink hair, while others think those in turn would ruin the game. I assume people who are ready to see colors in general could also tolerate weirdly colored fellow characters even if they didn't want to play them as long as they are not forced to play such through genetics. So even with genetics, it should allow some level of customization or we might run into people killing their spawns if they're not of the right color, just as some retards are killing of their characters if they're not good fighters.

And we have a cantrian world full of big busted females and buffed out males...
but I do understand the point of already established charries.. Maybe some sort of check list, that once you complete it.. it cannot be changed.
Maybe a few things can be left changeable, hair length,, facial hair..

I agree. Perhaps just to get things started in this subject, we have a few base colors that you choose from when your character is spawned, or you can choose to not have a description of such. As for already existing characters, an easy way to incorporate it would just have all characters be asked to fill these in. Personally, green and pink haired people would be a little odd for me, though I have a character that is supposed to be a midget, so I can't say much on that.

I strongly disagree. Given freedom like now, many make stereotypical characters. But so what? Will it be suddenly a lot better when a random dice throw makes the stereotypical characters? Not really, guys.
But if you put this kind of feature in, then it makes the incredibly detailed, quirky and fun character appearances that some people invent - a kind of CRB. No way, those are some of the best characters in Cantr.

For reasons such as that, I wish to keep the descriptions at a somewhat minimum. Just a few things, so that we don't have the blonde, triple H woman walking around asking if anyone has seen her feet because she hasn't.
If this feature is put into the game, I have a feeling that we will be seeing a lot of the same characters. Black hair, blue eyes or something of the sort. Which also may encourage other players to make something different.

While I think this is a great idea, as it could make Cantr more realistic by making it easier for people to be discriminated against based on appearance (which is not a good thing but a common aspect in many societies), I don't think this should be implemented. If you want your character to have a really out there appearance that should be allowed. There are many medical conditions which affect height-appearance-hair, and if they weren't coded for, they would never appear in Cantr, and if they were, people would complain about getting the short end of the stick.

Except the annoying thing is they only appear to RP that when as the player they're trying to show that off. I have fat people, thin people, pretty people, ugly people, pretty much anything, and I don't RP the good looks on the good-looking ones only when they've gotten into one of the usual newspawn vs newspawn bickering to show off how much more awesome I am, but just all the time.

And what about scars? Dying your hair?
Purple is not a natural hair color. You dye your hair to get it.

Hardcoded genetic apearance could have the advantage that the way people look like could tell us where they're from. If there's a character with an odd hair color in a certain region, breeding for a long time, people from this region will have a heightened chance of having this hair color. Although that could be interesting ("could" again), apperance genes will most likely have no other effect. Appearance, in contrast to skills, is no survival trait so there won't even be an evolution. All you get is that your appearance is chosen for you.
I think we should allow players to create an appearance for their characters themselves. Just add a little text field that is shown on your character page and can be filled in by yourself and edited any time.
I know, people will say it could be abused but I don't think that would be much of a problem.
Characters could change their appearance in an instance, but since people are not recognised by apperance, but by their character ID, that would only be a problem with search warrants via the radio.
Players could also post inappropriate or OOC decriptions in their appearance box, but that's not different from saying it out loud.
After all, the majority of the playerbase seems trustworthy so I don't see why a feature should be withhold for everybody, just because a selected few will abuse it.
