No, you would have missed one direction of play.. and it would have took a different route is all.

Like I said, I do not care what others do.. I really don't, as long as it has no effect on me.

As for relations without sex withering.. do you mean in game or in real life?

In game I have one relationship that is over 75 years old.. they are still in love.. and have never done 'it'.. I have another that has been together almost as long... no more than kissing hugging , holding hands.. They are very happy in their relationship.

I have a character that is 'blindly' in love. He never thought about having sex.

One of my characters was sort of seduced to have it.
And the third has it as part of his relationship with someone.

I said it often happens, not that it is necessary for a relationship. It differs for every single person. (And I meant in real life.)

But again, a lot of relationships just whither and die. Sex or not.

I am against 'outlawing' sex in Cantr, but I have no trouble with players just not having their characters have it. I would not even have the right to force them to it.

Seriously? Are we all going to sit around and be juvenile and go "Oohhoohoo, penis and vagina!" If you are an adult and you have an issue with a situation you are in it is your responsibility as an adult to remove yourself from that situation. If you are not an adult, then take your tea and cookies and go elsewhere. If you're not mature enough to handle something.
Sex is the most natural thing in the world, and to deny that it even exists is folly. This game does not FORCE you to have sex. Yes, you may get a charrie who gets raped, but if you can't fix that one by yourself, call PD. It is so blindingly obvious yet you sit here and bitch and moan cuz 'someone said they had a GINEY.'
GROW UP. As far as my part, I am trying to roleplay a simulation of real-life events. This, for a NORMAL HUMAN BEING includes sex. D'you think that prostitution is called 'The World's Oldest Profession' for shits and giggles? No. Sex has been around for the beginning of time, and it always will be. So stop being bitter and GET OVER IT.

But not because I disagree with you, I agree fully with your point. If you don't like it, don't cry for it to be outlawed, find a way to avoid exposure to it. I have and have had characters in relationships, some of whom roleplay very explicitly as part of the characters and have extensive relationships otherwise, and I've had characters in longterm relationships with nothing more than kissing. It's all subjective to what the other player wants. I have no issues not RP'ing sex if the other play does not want to. Furthermore, I am actually offended that others wish to censor my RP with willing and agreeing players, if it doesn't impact you or your character butt out!

TL;DR: Leave sex alone, it shouldn't be outlawed anywhere

Btw, QoB, I bit you just because I felt like it :twisted:

I am agree with you ,there is nothing forcing in game dynamics.It can be nice when done with a good rp and kindly.Out of this we have a brothel in game it means some people having sex and they are not lovers :lol:

Quick Notes before I get some shmit.

Seven Characters

ONE CAN'T have sex.

ONE has ZERO intention to EVER have sex, let alone know what the word is.

ONE would think the "ritual" as disgusting and want nothing to do with it.

ONE is my female character and I've ZERO intention to "go forward" with sex.

These are EACH separate character personalities. They were NOT listed in any particular order.

THREE, of the seven, are in love and have a full on relationship.

NOW, If I had said "Sex sex sex" etc SEVEN TIMES, there is an issue. 1/7... WHAT IS THAT PERCENTILE!? According to my math that is 15%, give or take?

Okay, maybe that is "too high" but let us all do that with x/15 etc.

NOT TO MENTION it would be 0/7 had the thought not been introduced to my character to begin with.

It is the "manner" by which things are done that ALWAYS seems to be the problem. Again, if you've a PERSONAL issue.. you should report it. Sex is NOT common in Cantr. Not as common as it is implied. The "whisper sex" shouldn't have happened to being with and THIS "new case" is only because people are now "hearing" about this "more often".

I say

1: Deal with it IC, "You are doing WHAT in public!? *locks them in jail to starve* There, now you can have all the fun you like, provided you don't like to eat."

2: BITCH OOC or TO PD, case by case, "I saw something HORRIBLE and gross IC that I JUST CAN'T deal with because I am not emotionally able to deal with it. Please help!"

3: IGNORE IT! "What did I... oh nothing, okay."

Now, I'm no "fan" of having things taken from me BUT "some people" cause a stink until "stuff is removed" so I sorta just deal with the stuff being "removed". That isn't the best thing to do and I lose a "freedom" (word used loosely) but now everyone shuts up cause all that is left are the people saying, "But I wanna **** in Cantr!"

No. It feels exactly the same to me as removing things like the ability to hit someone, to swear, or outlawing the fact your characters may hate another.

Some people do not like swearing, hitting someone is commonly frowned upon, and sex is a taboo.

They still all exist and as such should do so in Cantr.

This whole debate has just become more and more entertaining (for me at least) to read through. What kind of group are we to talk about how bad* sex is, but we are content to stab people with: *sigh*(this is gonna be a long list*

ehh...any bladed weapon *tired of naming em all*

and that is in addition to:

and other forms of violence (I am still waiting for the ability to throw an animal at someone though)

How can it be okay to MURDER an entire town...but wrong to have SEX with your accomplice once its been accomplished?

Any role you can imagine you can play in this game and the challenge is in playing it consistently, and in achieving the goals you set for your characters individually.

These are all "roles" that certain players may have in mind, and the list can be longer but I am sure you get the point.

And on (yet another) side note, if the whole "OOC: This bothers me, can you not do it" argument becomes valid, then can it be presented in other aspects that bother other individuals? Cause I know I would be REALLY offended if my murdering bastard character was to be killed....
