Further to this, let me just say, the world is extremely large. Add on to that the free roaming and it is going to seem even larger. If it ever requires expansion I will be truly shocked (and very happy).

However, I'm spawning all closed beta participants on one of the smaller islands, and people can build boats and progressively move outwards if that is their wish (or as they completely deplete all usable resources from that island, more likely :shock:).

Oooh... I like it. A planet-scale, new-world type panspermia (aka, diaspora)...

I wonder how long it will take before there is a 'lost colony'...

Well, it has no "age" as such, just a world and a technology tree (no in-game content apart from the native vegetation and animals, until people start playing), so the closed beta participants get to start at the stone age or thereabouts, I suppose.
