Knocking on Doors

Postby Anthony Roberts » Fri Apr 23, 2004 8:38 pm

You know how annoying it is when someone spams your screen with "You see -so abd so- knocking on door -building name-" or "you hear someone knowcking on the door to -building name-" It fills the screen...

I have two possible solutions.

1) Permit knocking only once every game hour (So 8 times a day)

2) Show a multiplyer after the task to show how many times the event happened. Ie: 802-6 You hear someone knocking on door Tony's House (x21)

Or, nothing can be done about it. There's that option too >.>

Well. They're obviously doing it to get out of the building. I doubt they mean it to pusposly spam. Annoy, sure. But, yeah... >.>

Well that's a good idea. When you want to knock on a door you can indicate how many times your character does it so that it appears on one line. This would save loading times from someone expressing their desire for freedom. There should be a limit on the maximum times with the multiplyer though. To prevent. "You here someone knocking on the door to The Prison (x1000000)
"My mind works like lightning, one brilliant flash and it's gone."

That's too complicated. I'd just kill 'em.

And that's less complicated? You'd have to make yourself digital, then you'd have to climb into your PC, find your way through your internet connection, find the Cantr server, find a way to authorize your entry, identify the chunk of zeros and ones that define the knocking character, define the subset of chunks that define 'alive' or 'dead', find a way to authorize your altering of that chunk, do the actual altering, and then find a way back home (if you still remember where that was, after you have gotten so far).
