I suppose it could be true - most location names are just variations on a theme, so you could forget (in a passive way) where you have your characters positioned. I'd be hard pressed to tell you where all of mine are now.
Four out of my seven characters spawned on the same island. That wasn't my choice. If the CRB is really #1 priority, then that is bad programming.

I think the PD is occasionally gung-ho about this issue. One of my characters was in a relationship with another. She happened to have two playing in the same town.
They both did what they would have done, and when they DID interact very minorly this ONE time, neither of them doing anything wrong, PD jumped on them like rabid dogs.
So one character had to leave. She chose the character MY character was in a relationship with. So she had to come up with one giant bullshit reason to leave town and our characters ended up leaving the home they loved.
In my mind, it constituted a HUGE rule breach, with characters doing things completely OUT of character, by having one made to leave.
Especially when neither of her characters did anything wrong.
Sorry, I'm a little bitter.

I actually think it should be allowed.. But you need to play them apart. They are other persons than you and got nothing to do with you.
So if one is aggressive and the other a coward, the aggressive one could perhaps even kill your other char. It is in the extremes of roleplaying. I actually have my characters hurt themselves as well during hunting if they are bad at it.

Two characters doing what they would do, each on their own with no OOC knowledge, happen to be living in the same town... is a breach? So, obviously the wording of the CRB needs to be changed, as it has changed drastically since the description of it was written.
It was MY character who dragged her other character into town, too. She even expressed IC reluctance about going, which I think was more of a CRB then having them live together. O.o

I don't disagree except to say that the PDs job is already very hard sometimes when the meeting is accidental, much less if everyone were allowed to have charries in the same place. It would make it much harder for us to spot cheaters if everyone had characters in the same place. Just because they ARE doesn't necessarily mean they have breached anything but that is part of the reason you can't spawn in the same place you already have a charrie, I believe.
When my sister played, I could pick her characters out very very easily, and I had to be REALLY careful not to breach because we talked about Cantr all the time -- I can't even imagine if I had two of my own in one town. It would be easy to breach unintentionally.

I'm not sure if it was directed on my post as well, as I meant pretty much the same. Using OOC knowledge to have your chars avoid each other is simply a CRB by itself.

Your intent was communicated clearly, to me at least.

Good. As I often fail to be clear, starting great conflicts over nothing.
Although I think we, the ones thinking two chars in one location could as well not be CRB, have now incited a war!

LOL, no war Caesar. Believe me, you try being on PD and allowing everyone to have two chars in one place -- oye!!
No, we do our best not to play favorites and apply the rules across the board. Remember that we are both volunteers and fellow players when you complain about us. And if you truly believe something is unfair, well you can take it up with our higher powers

Despite the possibly-implied dickishness from my previous posts, I do understand that it must be very difficult to try and tell when someone's lying, when they're honestly not CRBing, and how many issues it must cut down to not allow two characters of one player to live in one town.
BUT IT MADE A PRETTY GIRL SAD.

I never said I declared war on PD, nor that there had to be favorites.
I just implied the rule is strange and a CRB by itself. (And I tried to be funny.)
