Yes, because apparently I'm doing something wrong when asking why things are locked, even though the question remained unanswered and no reason for locking was given. So I made a new topic in suggestions. Apparently that's making a double topic which is not allowed so I got a PM saying I wasn't supposed to make a second one. :S

Anyway, I did make a post in suggestions. Is there an option to merge threads? If not, then I suppose this one could be locked and the other thread in suggestions could be used to discuss this.

At least I've been told that there's no way of merging threads beyond quoting all the posts from one thread in another one and then deleting or locking the former. I think active threads shouldn't be locked unless it's a flame fest or discussing something that's against the rules. alf could have waited to see if discussion would still continue before locking the thread. I think moving this to general discussion was the right thing to do, and the suggestion could be handled separately, since this is a question and a suggestion is a suggestion. And also when people lock active threads, they should mention who's doing it and why.

I agree that it should have been moved instead of locked. That would have been the better method to keep the support forum clean.

Yes, but I did not move it so we can discuss whether moving was right or whether Alf was right or Wiro ;-) ... Alf was right that the support forum should not be used for chatting. Locking is a solution, I think moving a slightly better one, hence the move. Now back on topic please ;-) ...
