Hidden - or not?
Why is it characters appear to be seen when spoken to, while otherwise hidden? Like with boats docked to eachother?

Oh, that. You said "like" so I assumed you meant a similar but different situation. I think it's handy that the characters remain hidden unless interacted with. I'm not sure if they can be hit from the shore either so then it would make sense that they couldn't be seen either. I think most likely they're not shown because it would require extra queries.

If Person A is in the longboat, Person B in the harbor will not be able to see Person A. But they can hear each other if they talk openly. Just not 'see' each other in the People list.
Makes logical sense to me!

If you have a big ship then you can set it to dock and go sleep in a smaller vehicle docked to it, and if you dock while you're asleep, no one can hit you or even see you. But docking still advances because it doesn't check if anyone is on deck, otherwise people could prevent docking even one or two hours before hitting land by moving everyone off deck.

I never realized that when listening to someone who's talking to someone else, you know immediatly who that someone else is without hearing their voice. :S So, no, this is just an ugly bug. :S

I'm spamming for asking why it's locked without anyone telling me why? Now really, I don't know where you got that definition. :S
Apparently you are not reading properly either, because how are these sound waves of people who talk to OTHERS making it so those OTHERS are exposed? They didn't talk, so how does this have anything to do with sound waves?
So who's "spamming" now?
