I've never had to do a copy/paste of events but if I did i'd just paste it into word and do a find/replace "you see" with "I saw", "you say" with "I said", "says" with "said" "you give" with "I gave" and "says to you" with "said to me"

Someone could probably make a lil app that would do that actually, much like joo's item list formatter

Writing a long account of an events is a time-consuming activity in real life, and it's unrealistic that people should be suddenly be able to produce one in a universal format.

Besides the fact that it's horribly bad RP to copy and paste event logs, if you're so busy that you don't have time to write out some events as interpreted as your character, you shouldn't be able to RP to much depth either and it's unlikely that your character would have got to such a sitation where they feel the need to write something like that.

Use some common sense and tell people that you'll need some time to write it all down, or condense the events into general descriptions. Your character doesn't have perfect memory, and could forget details from events which occured longer ago, like the exact words which people said.

Well I must say I am partial to the good pint every now and then... but I've never picture myself as a "mean drunk"...

Yeah and in many towns where there are draconian rules about picking up stuff from the ground, people routinely go and paste into everyone's event list something like:

"2558-3.27: Project Digging for salt has been finished (1416 grams, ending up on the ground)"

Then this is considered "Proper Proof" by the town leaders that it was OK for that person to pick up the salt from the ground.

Terrible, guys! Just terrible! (I have done it, and I'm ashamed of myself)

This "pasting of stuff from the eventlist as proof of what happened" should REALLY be outlawed in the rules as a CRB!!!!!!

Let's start a vote, maybe?

Well, I do agree with that being bad rp to have it as proof -- unfortunately if you decide NOT to do it that way, your charrie gets murdered for not giving proof lol. So what can you do? I also think that it can't be RPed as absolute proof of words said either -- it isn't like we have a recording device. And I could have changed the words said

I wouldn't make it a punishable, but definitely a strong guideline -- after all, it isn't as bad as pure CRBing, however could be equated with other forms of bad RP.

New players might pick up that it's acceptable from seeing others do it, before they've been playing for long enough to realise how bad it is.

I agree we should outlaw that thing. If someone doesn't have the time to edit the log, that should tell them it's too long. Write a brief summary in your own words. Seriously, who in the real life would go:

2009-1:12. Bob says: "Hey give that back! *tries to grab the glass back*"

2009-1:12. You say: "What man I was listening! Gee man, now your food landed in my glass, I ain't gonna drink that mess. *steals Bob's glass*"

2009-1:12. Jenny says: "HEY!!!"

2009-1:12. Bob says: "Hey DUDE are you even listening to me or too busy staring at Jenny's tits?"

2009-1:12. Bob says: "*throws a chunk of meatloaf at Frank*"

2009-1:12. a girl in her teens says: "like she TOTALLY hasa crush on him"

2009-1:12. a girl in her teens says: "lol dunno prolly brian"

2009-1:12. Mary or Maddy(?) says: "who dos she think shes impressing with that?"

2009-1:12. Mary or Maddy(?) says: "Yeah like duhh"

2009-1:12. Bob says to you: "So are you coming to football practice after school?"

2009-1:12. a girl in her teens says: "it was like... neon green, like that's so 90s >.<"

2009-1:12. a girl in her teens says: "did you see that thing janet was wearing today?!?"

2009-1:12. Bob says: "The meatloaf really sucks today but the fruit salad rocks."

No, you'd go more like "so we were at lunch break and the girls were chatting something brainless so I kinda zoned out and then Bob threw meatloaf at me because I wasn't listening even though I was, I was just slow at replying, so then I had to drink from his glass instead".
