because the older generation came from an age where things were COMPLETELY different from today so they have flaws that would have been common in those days and today everyone is just like " wtf are you serious you are so incompetant " because their thinking style is......outdated.

also...... yes. and there is a perfectly logical reason for that. they just don't know you the way your real parents do. which can be a shitty thing if you are disabled in some way. ( like me and my mild form of autism )

Like Joo once posted in more detail, autism is retarded. I have a slight bit of autism, and things have been blown way out of proportion ever since it was found out. They said I wasn't capable of understanding other's feelings, I wasn't able to make new friends, and so on. But I was, but still I got all the bullshit "help" that made things even worse and worse, and thus I more or less started to believe all the lies, but luckily I got over all that and am now perfectly able to do those things again.

I've gotten help for all kinds of things I didn't need help for, and meanwhile my real flaws were ignored.

How did they "find out"? I've been struggling for years to get an official diagnosis. Now I've gone to a psychologist a couple of times and every time she keeps saying what I'm telling matches the symptoms, but she's not doing any tests and last time she said I should see a doctor but apparently she hasn't managed to arrange an appointment yet.

i think people are too quick to assume a person is disabled. not everyone will share the same exact symptoms. they just go by a book and what general knowledge they have not by the person.

well, your obviously long past the point where cantr feels more like work and less like a game. any time i have a toon like that they either die OR abandon their duties to the town ( if any ) and do something different but also helpful to the town.

Often my characters feel sexually attracted to someone who doesn't feel the same. It's even more awkward if it's same sex attraction. I can't play naturally if I have to worry about the other player behind the character.

that IS a problem even if it's not the same sex. BUT i can't see why you have to worry about the other player if they already don't feel the same way IC unless your attempting to make moves on them. and if so, simple solution......don't. then there is no awkwardness.

of course, it's not always that simple......certain situations are different.

Well in most cases the character understands that putting their own desires ahead of what other people want would make them a bad person, so they either talk first to find out if the other person is consenting and back off (embarrassed) if not, or assume the other person wouldn't like it and don't ask in the first place. But when it's about a character who has already raped two people in the past, he wouldn't care about how the victim feels. The only reason he wouldn't go all the way through is because something was making him feel awkward. But the thing is I can't test where his personal limit goes if the victim's player is non-consenting.

hmmm..... how about you just start with something like ** kisses her agressively ** and see how the character reacts. THEN ask the player if it's ok to do a rape scene. if the response is negative then both players will have to pretend it actually happened ( even though it did not ) so when they ask the other players character what happened the character will say she was raped even though it never happened.

that's the only solution in my mind.....IC, it happened. OOC, it was never role played.
