In the RP I come from, we use Fade To Black when a player is uncomfortable with sex or rape. We usually just emote "They fade to black" as a spoof.

This kinda brings up one of my pet hates in Cantr.

Someone ways they were raped and everybody automatically believes them and punishes the (possible) rapist.

That in itself is bad RP to my mind, but worse when you consider that in the Cantr world this is not illegal.

I have yet to see one town with laws on consensual sex.
SO why is something so stigmatised IG, when it has no reason to be.

And of course, half the negative aspects (STD and unwanted pregnancies) are obsolete in Cantr.

I've seen a town with laws against harrassment of any kind including that, as well as a town with laws you can't cheat on a partner in another town.

I think I remember seeing an anti-rape law in some town, can't remember which one. Or maybe it was anti-slavery, can't quite remember.

I guess rape and slavery are really in the same boat. Both of them involve a person performing an action they do not wish to perform.

Because just like with slavery, people seem to automatically know it's wrong even if it happened so rarely that there was no need to make a law forbidding it.

Like murder, rape and slavery both have inherit human stigmas. Even before the major onsets of religion I'm SURE it was stigmatized and even punished.

I'm sure there were places were the women were raped because it was supposed to be like that - stuff like that. Groups full of rapists and unlucky women. Speaking long ago here.

Well Wiro, rape can always be bad in some way. Even in a hardcore mysoginistic society, as there will always be the husband, lover or whatever person who is intimate of her to come 'YOU ****D MAH GIRL?! I KILL YOU!!! BWARR!!!'.

Yeah, but it's not the rape that's wrong, but the fact it was their girl that got raped that was wrong. ;)
