I was looking at the topic about cahracters getting pregnant.
And I was thinking about how points seem useless right now.
So I thought, why not put the two together? Players could use points to be one of those newborns, and would have to wait until a randomly selected character is pregnant to be assigned to that new-born character.
The reason? Being able to grow up would be a huge benifit in Cantr. Becaue few would have that opportunity. Plus, this character will already have two otehr character taking care of it.
Also, this character would grow differently than spawned characters. It would develop skills slightly faster than an adult, but not to much faster, or it would be to great of an advantage.
Points to be used for characters in a different way

I doubt they'll accept it, because they don't want 'outside of cantr' actions to affect Cantr inside events. At least that's what I think they'll think.
My stand: I agree with this. We could have to types of births in game (spawning and pregnancy). The second would happen more rarely, and only to people who actually deserve it. After all, people who vote are people who care for the game, and are most probably active. Maybe you'd have to spend 300 votes to be a baby. 300 votes means a lot of days in Cantr, so it means the couple would give birth to a somewhat experienced player. Besides, this birth would very interisting rp situations (...and just imagine family wars and much more.)

Hmm, if people had to pay credits to play a baby or a parent, that would probably weed out all the trolls, but it might also mean there were so little options that there would be no random chance involved. If only one couple was requesting a child and only one player was ready to play one, that could be used to place a character exactly where you wanted it (which was one of the possible suggestions in the more uses for credits thread).

This (probably) won't get accepted so there's no practical need for this post, however I thought I'd express my opinion that creating a multiple-tier player community in which those with credits have higher priveleges insofar as accessing unique game features which directly affect the game word would be against the "free" spirit of the game, as well as being in poor taste.

Ah, but they made the points system for a reason though. Vote for Cantr and add to it's vote count, and obtain points. Players used to be able to use them for extra minutes. So, if points are to be used for extra minutes, character slots (like many have suggested), then why not for the child experience?
Plus, it makes it much easier to hand out child characters to those who want them.

I am sure that this will not get accepted as well, but it is fun to think about. Adding children would add a WHOLE different level of RP. You would be responsible for them, if you abandoned them then I could see people adopting them or setting up orphanges to take care of them. What about child labour? Also as one of you stated, there could be family feuds.
Just so many things I can think of could come from this. Also, if someone spent 300 hard-earned points on a child then I am sure that they would not just go to sleep and abandon it, they would really care for it like it was their own.

Every action has a consequence.
