Better yet, build in a radio transmitter and when you start regretting it, you can send out messages and cause distress to anyone who hears. Or drag in an innocent person who doesn't want to die and let them shout to the radio while you smash the keys.

lol, I like the way you think.

Ancient leaders were often buried together with servants and pets, they could be killed or buried alive. It would be neat if people could afford to do this in Cantr as well. If the servants were buried alive, they could keep a diary while they're locked in to die. It would also be interesting if they all had an equal doze of food so that they would starve exactly on the same moment, so that they could keep socializing until then - unless someone went insane and started killing the others.

absolutly doable ingame
not to crb as i did not do this yet but one of my characters who was a vampire and if he ever had risen to power would have done

build a locked room down a corridor of locked rooms (stone extensions) in it would be a radio reciever they would also load up on food like.. salted meat?
salted meat being perfect as 10000 grams can last roughly 500 days in game and irl. sometime before that the person would regain interest and awaken!
indeed the vamp char i mentioned that would have done this was with thought of the movie underworld.
now that is the short of it but hey is anything really stopping anyone from making thier own deep sleep chamber and have enough food to literally last a lifetime? have a couple month long projects they can work on in thier sleep

ya sometimes i have the odd leader char pass out for a decade, they always ended up too busy to build something like this or appoint people to rule in thier absense but a well made... political structure would make a place perfectly runable with a sleepy /ill leader allow a leader to travel, but still be bound together by that leader....

know what? thanks for resurfacing this thought in my head, i should really institute it in a couple chars that i love, rule much, are old but sometimes i need a break from due to the exhausting amount of work in them, sometimes bogged by stress or depression or disinterest after the rare downtime.. hmmm......
