Hi,
I'd like to point out a topic which hasn't changed much during the last years but has been annoying me over and over again.
When I first started playing Cantr II my mother told me about it. We were using different PC's in different rooms of our house. We didn't talk about the game. However, I wasn't able to register because my mother was playing... So I had to write an e-mail to the support, tell them who I am, who my mother is, that I would like to play Cantr, and so on. Then I did play for quite a while but at some point I did have too much work otherwise so didn't play anymore.
Then I wanted to play again.
But, guess what? I wasn't able to register. So I had to write to the support and tell them, I wanted to register, etc.
I played a while, then I started university, didn't have time anymore. I forgot my ID.
Now I told my boyfriend about Cantr and when I did that I felt like playing again.
Both of us registered. But, wohoo... I was rejected. Seems like my boyfriend was using the same IP-adress. Now I have to register again with my boyfriends information added, have to choose names for my characters again, etc.
What's the point about that? Other games reject you because of the same IP-adress but other games don't allow one player to have more that one character. In Cantr you can have lots of characters. So what's the point of registering more than once?
The e-mail said:
Hi --,
Unfortunately, your attempt to create a new player account on Cantr
II has not been accepted. The reason for this is that you seem to be creating two applications and you are only allowed to have one account.
If this decision is based on a misunderstanding, please contact
support email address : .
It might be that you created a second account because your other application contained an incorrect email address. In this case also please contact support email address : .
Yours,
Pilot
Well, why can't they just send an e-mail with activation code like the other pages all do? Then they know if there was an error in the e-mail adress and I don't have to enter all the information over and over and over again.
annoyed,

I told Pilot, that he should either recover my old account or accept my new one. He told me to register again. Why couldn't he just recover the old one? Is he not a full PD member?
Right now I'm actually thinking about not playing Cantr...

Well I am sorry that it was an inconvenience to you, but it is for the betterment of the game. They do not want spammers setting up lots of accounts and slowing the server down. This game is 100% free so you should not complain about having to write an email to the PD. They have it set up this way so that they can monitor who joins, and keep people from abusing the system. You closed your accounts several times(like most of us have), so you shouldn't complain about having to write them a single email...
If all else fails just ask for your money back. I am sure they will re-imburse you 100% for the trouble that the email caused you. I think 100% of $0 is somewhere close to $0...

Kiddycat,
Pilot is our applications specialist. He is very good at what he does. The fastest way to get your application processed is to do exactly as he requests.
If you played over four years ago, it's probable your old account was deleted from the system.
Thanks.

If it was a single e-mail...
Does it actually look like spamming to you if there are two (!) applications for an account with two correctly and differently filled in forms?
I guess, you didn't see many spam-roboters yet...
And I don't complain about the time it takes for an account to be accepted.

If people were allowed to create an unlimited amount of accounts, they could get several characters a day instead of just 2 at sign-up and 1 each following day. Then there could be four or 6 or a dozen confused newbie characters running around, picking up everything not nailed to the floor. And once the person gets bored of juggling two or three or n accounts, they'll let them time out, leading into loads of dying sleepers. There is a limit to the amount of characters so that people would put more thought into their characters instead of mass spawning them without personalities, but without moderation people could get around the limit. Also cheating protection tools wouldn't detect characters from different accounts working together, so if someone created a dozen accounts and had a bunch of characters travel into the same town to form an army, PD wouldn't notice until someone reported it.
There would be less applications to review if people at least had to confirm their email address is valid before the application is sent for review.
