For suspenseful music, may I suggest the Battlestar Galactica soundtrack by Bear McCreary. Fan-frakkin-tastic.

Also...very fun to listen to while driving. Not that I do this personally, but its fun to yell "Break right! NOW NOW NOW!" when turning.

So anyone excited about the season finale? I thought I knew where this show was going but now I'm not sure after last night's episode.

I think Jacob wants to die though. I think he is a prisoner held by the island. If you remember from Season 3 when Locke heard Jacob, Jacob asks Locke to help him. On top of that, the voice sounded pretty sad to me.

These are the things I want answers more than anything...what is Richard's back story and what is up with the ruins of the ancient civilization on the island?

The island could be Atlantis an island that can vanish with out a trace yet have proof that it was real. And a few more but for those who had not seen the last season I'l be nice and shut up.

Possible spoilers

I think Christian might have been actually Jacob's nemesis as well.

I just finished watching EP16-17 of season 5.[/b]

Yes, I had the same suspicion. I think the appearance of Alex might have been Jacob's nemesis too, as she told him to do whatever Locke says.

Jacob's nemesis might be *all* of the dead people who have appeared to be alive again.

On Topic:
(ie, spoiler-free!)

I can see how Lost is like Cantr in some important ways. They both involve struggles between various groups of people without any interference from an overarching monolithic civilization. On the island, people are pretty much free of any laws imposed by the outside world. Similarly, in Cantr, there are no laws imposed by the game design. Everybody is free to get away with whatever other people will let them get away with. And if you have a weapon, you make the rules.

I agree that Jacob's nemesis is everyone that died and has come back. However, I think Jacob actually won...

Jacob certainly wasn't trying very hard to avoid the apparent consequences...

But then again no one in Lost so far really tried to actually avoid dying, it either happened or because of some miracle they survived.
