I tend to find that too many people do the "tough guy act" when they're captured, rather than the more realistic "zomg please don't kill me i'll do anything". If one of my chars ever does capture someone and the victim just goes silent (play cba anymore) then I just RP it as being scared speechless or scared unconscious.
Also non-capitalisation and (consistent) poor spelling annoy the hell out of me, But Not As Much As Over-Capitalisation

Yeah, but you just gotta say the right things to frighten them. Having two lovers or friends captured is just great. Keep them in different rooms, go "Ur girl is gunna die
" and they'll be on their knees begging for their lives in no-time. Although there are those that are stubborn.

I'd love to kidnap a couple but if I knew OOC it was a well-played couple then I'd be awfully sad if I had to kill them... Fortunately they tend to be older folks with crowbars and my character has only once kidnapped a person who had a crowbar (it was a sleeper).
I think this topic should be split, this hasn't been about Stone Knights in a long while.

Done it.
And I wouldn't kill a good roleplayer if not necessary (like, if they had a crowbar and are determined to get out). So far I locked up three people with crowbars. One was the one I told about earlier who pointed at my char several times, refused to roleplay and just made fun of my character in ways that didn't fit with what I just did to their character. So I killed him. Another gave up their crowbar, after lots of threatening. They tend to give up once aware of the fact they won't get away even if they get out. Like, if you tell them you replaced the lock on their vehicle.
Another was quite a while ago and I got one of the other prisoners to kill the one with the crowbar, or they'd get dragged in another locked building and killed there. ^^
With crowbars, you just need to threaten them enough to make them give up.

I know two very well roleplayed characters who didn't use capital letters on the start of a sentence all the time, or capitalized "I". They both developped their own personalities over time, and were very easy and fun to roleplay with. They both did use emotes though.
Well I guess I wouldn't mind so much IF they put some effort into RPing...though it takes significantly less to locate and use their Shift key so if they can bother to do the first why not the second?
Maybe I've just had bad luck but all of the 'no-cappers' I run into just seem incredibly lazy and boring...you'd think they'd at least be decent employees because if they don't care about RP they shouldn't mind working inside, but most of them spawn all 'can i hav cool weapon plz' so at best I view them as being mildly retarded and at worst I try to avoid my chars having to talk to them at all. It just bugs the hell out of me when one of them somehow winds up in a position of power though.
This thread makes me sad though, almost everyone here is willing to be either a well-played prisoner or a well-played guard/kidnapper, yet somehow we never seem to meet with the right chars IG.
Having to kill an idiot prisoner isn't too bad, usually just a little disappointing (though honestly in a situation like the one with CantrFreak and Rigel Kent I would be OOC tempted to keep them alive and locked up as long as possible just to keep from inflicting that person's next newspawn on another town...), but it is so discouraging to actually lose a char to someone who refuses to RP.
P.S. Rigel Kent - you realize CantrFreak the player, and their character aren't the same person right? I mean...you do realize that, right? This is a serious question.

Hmm... maybe my character are 'too nice'? I've characters in positions where they are allowed to put people in jail or hit them but don't usually have to as someone beats me to it or the 'bad guy' changes his mind. Couple of times it just took a few days of talking and no body running for things to be 'given up'. Didn't even need to jail the guy!
I've even got a character who NEEDS to be locked up and one that needs to learn some manners. I think I either don't have enough characters OR I don't have enough characters that need to be 'taken care of'.
*goes and spawns a newspawn just to get locked up... not suicidal*

Still miss that char...
Aww... You were just unlucky. I wouldn't kill roleplayed characters as easily now. ^^,

Heh, lol, I still feed bad though. It's one of the few people I locked up that actually roleplayed, and I killed him.
But most people that roleplay have enough common sense not to walk into a 6 room deep building to help dragging some bodies out, anyway. lol

Hehe, yes, I've had a couple of charries where I wondered this myself, though I think it's a seperate issue and not as much of a problem as the one we're talking about.
I think what happens is that in some places people are just so grateful to have a criminal that actually cooperates and is active that they don't even really want to do anything to punish them once they give up, beyond the whole 'work on projects for X amount of days' thing.
I've had a couple of towns that were so friendly and amused by my chars (even the ones I purposely played as really obvious jerks or petty criminals) that I basically had no choice but to completely reform them, because unless your char is just completely souless and evil how can you hate people who shower you with gifts and praise when by every right should have killed you or locked you up or at the very least pointed a weapon at you and said STFU?
Not that I mind, really, but I can't help thinking it'd be more interesting (not to mention realistic) to have the sullen little punk attitude slapped out of them rather than having them be patiently TLC'd into the herd.

No, I'm talking about my other char.
With Spice was a one-time thing. The other char does it all the time

Besides you anoy me always have always will ever since you took that town..ever stop to think why every one left who was there when you were first there.
Oh, you're that guy? I was hoping (thought not hoping at the same time) that you were on the forums.
And well, let's see. If one's 90% dead, he can't be running around the room and fighting back. He probably shouldn't be able to move easily... >.>
And honestly, your attitude makes me want to strangle you, in 1 out of 3 posts include some sorta attack on people. And you don't know how to separate characters from players... personally attacking us when getting char's imprisoned. And you kept on ranting on about savage Americans and stuff. >.> ...as for what's happened IG, I'll be glad to debate this in a PM rather than on the forums as I don't think people want to listen to your (and partly mines I suppose) rants.
