People won't always have alternatives Drael, they'll just know that there are issues with it, but don't see a way around it. That's why there are so many of us around here, so hopefully -someone- does.

Well offering suggestions requires thought. Offering criticism requires less. Its the same everywhere, people are always quick to say "no you cant", and virtually never give it a chance or thought.

I'm sorry if we come off as rude, but it's not just a "irritated by newcomers thing". If you read some past posts, generally people in here are equally rude to anybody who's suggestion they don't think will work. Again, sorry.

Well I guess its natural with new ideas of any kind. People dont like change, and their quick to dismiss what could be great. But you really have a culture of that here, which is sad, because as a game in development, all opinions shared is helping really. To dismiss ideas off the bat, all the time, hurts development. Thank you for the apology, It doesnt matter to me a great deal, but I was taken aback by the negativity of responses. I post on other forums, and I know there are newbie mistakes, and some vitriol, but this is quite intense really and no one even seems to notice.

Thing is - and, admittedly this has lapsed recently - but we do actually try to organise the suggestions forums. Keeping one thread per suggestion means staff can go back and look at player discussion of the topic in one place, rather then hunting many threads down. Look at the rejected forum - many of them in there are duplicates. Hoping yours might 'float to the bottom' means that any replies in your threads will likely go ignored by the staff, in preference to the longer threads.

Your quip about coding and how simple things can be is incredibly arrogant. Cantr is run by volunteers, and we rarely have enough Programmers to go around. Saying 'oh it's easy' belittles the work they do and makes you look petulant.

If you do have some background in coding the best thing you can do is apply to the ProgD. Ideas are all well and good - even if they are not original - but join, and that way you'll see any suggestions here implemented much faster.

We get FAR too many suggestions - even accepted ones that we want to implement - than we can possibly go ahead and introduce.

Also, how do you expect us to react? You come here and ignore threads which ask - and help - you to keep the suggestion forums easily organised. Done so very politely and easily accessible. These aren't arcane, unwritten rules of the forums - they're there, at the top... You prefer, instead, to post duplicates of old suggestions which just frustrates those of us who have been here for even a short while and see the same suggestions crop up again and again. There's no point getting defensive and asking us to 'be polite' as you've already shown you can't pay attention to our help, and so have forfeited the warm welcome you wanted. We wouldn't have threads to ignore if you had, in fact we might have even had some interesting new discussion on old topics. There are a number of debates in these pages that could do with firing up again...

Go find the old threads, some of them have some interesting discussions in them, you might learn a thing or two about the game, and help other new players like you see what's been going on developing it to where we are.

Finally, I'll reiterate my suggestion about joining staff. Despite the annoyances, your enthusiasm is welcome - it just could have done with better directing into feeding into the ongoing discussions rather than filling up the first page of this forum... That enthusiasm for the game would be much better spent on staff. You'll see, soon enough, that suggestions get accepted and implemented by staff as and when they want to work on something. If you see something in the accepted section you like, you'll see it in game much sooner if you join staff and make it happen...

As an aside, I'm not sure I believe you when you say you did search. I just did a quick run through of the first page and sorted through few threads (you weren't alone) and came up with the duplicates simply by putting the keyword of the topic into the search function. Hardly difficult. Some of the ones I left I know are duplicates too, but I don't have the time to sort through them right now.

Anyway, in the future please search properly. As you can see, there's a heck of a lot of discussion already out there that it is better to build upon. Also, welcome to the game and think about joining staff if you want to see any changes. We're not normally this disagreeable with new players but you have shown a great ability to blatantly ignore the advice and help given to you to keep these forums useful as a resource.

Yeah, I think the main problem here is that a lot of the ideas you're posting aren't new, as others have pointed out.

If you'll bump existing threads instead you'd probably find that a lot of people here love discussing things and tossing around elaborate solutions that are really interesting to read even if there's practicall zero chance they'll ever be implemented, because like hf said, coding is hard and there's already a huge backlog of things waiting to be added and an even huger one of existing things that (I hope) will be balanced and tweaked before even more major changes are made.

Instead of leaving like that (at least, that's what your post suggests you're doing), you could also try to like... learn. Bigotry doesn't get you anywhere.

That is exactly the attitude that got such a negative response from people. As soon as your ideas were criticised you tended to go for an overly defensive, argumentative response rather than taking it in as part of a discussion

But tbh if that's the way you act when you don't get your own way then good riddance...

I dont mean it in a bitter way, I just dont think this is the place for me. Ill prolly still read the odd thread, and maybe vote, but not post in here(suggestions).

I didnt want this discussion to be drawn out anymore.

Cantr is a great game, and Kudos to the creators and coders who make it.
Being so overwhelmed with suggestions must be hard.

Peace.

Way to "chase" Drael out chase. Cold blooded.

Drael, chase being mean is just her way of showing you affection. She's worse to me. Deal with it.
