I have characters involved in marriages in the current and the past. I think it makes sense. It's really just a term given to forever devoting yourself to another person. Many animals even do that.

Yes!
Sometimes, it's people like that that make me want to intentionally kill off that char

I had that. My char told them to calm the f*** down as they were stressing them out. It worked :D

You could always inject a bit of domestic abuse into the system to calm them down...if only to lower the amount of "omg we got married as newspawns and still love each other foreverz" couples and create a platform for some scandal.

Disclaimer: I do not currently, nor ever will, agree to the real life use of domestic abuse.

I have one character who was sort of abused by her boyfriend, but it was only because he thought she wanted it. When she told him it was going too far, he turned very considerate.

Actually I like to play victims so sometimes I intentionally create weak and insecure characters that would be easy prey for the dominant and abusive types, but I also create bold ones to maintain balance.

Many of my characters feel inclined towards hurting their partners but most of them can control themselves and only get S&M active if the partner shows consent. I love to play characters who hurt someone and then get really sorry and sympathetic and say they never really wanted to hurt you but insert excuse here, and find a partner who is ready to forgive them.

How could she steal his ship if she was dead? Or did he catch the ship after it was stolen, or was it a different wife?
