Animal Bodies

Postby Lone Wolf » Sun Apr 11, 2004 10:00 am

I think that once you kill an animal it should just fall to the ground, but not like ??? grams of meat, ??? grams of bones. But more like "Dead Bear" or "the body of a bear". In order to get the meat and bones you need to gut the animal. To keep it somewhat simple, you can do this with your bare hands. But it will take say 3 days. If you have or make a bone knife it can take only 2 days. If you have a knife it will take 1 day. By doing this, we make it harder for hunting.
I also think we should be able to keep parts of the body, such as Claws, Heads, and Horns. The Claws can be used to make a glove, you can have a bear claw glove, lion claw glove ect. Horns can be used for helmets. The heads would be used for cloaks. Cloaks have hoods.

"He wears a fur cloak with the head of a bear that rests on the top of his head"

There would be many uses for these items. If we were able to decorate a house, we could have the heads of animals on the wall.
To make more types of clothing we can split it up. instead of having just "Fur" we could have "Bear Fur" "Racoon Fur" ECT and you can make a cloak out of each which would be better quality. We can still keep the mixed fur cloak but it wouldn't look good and we could add a line to the description. "The cloak smells like dead animals" or something like that.

Thats about all I got right now, but I'm sure there are others who can add

is would be great but i don't think object's can be set as a resource type thing yet unfortunately. if someone in programming made it so it could be *hint hint hint  * it'd be great same as if object's could be end rsult's of machine task's but i get told it's being looked into. but i'd love to have different fur's with different uses. i wanna cheetah skin cloak

Nope... Me neither...

More and more suggestions are made and all of them are making the game easier... Ready to wear clothing whne killing some animal makes clothing non-exclusive...

Its not ready to wear thats where you went off, you would have to start a project to get the claws/head etc.. then perhaps later you would have to go to the clothing page glove section start the project for claw like gloves, add the claws then add some leather or some hide to it then work on it like every other clothing you have to make.

Thenj whats the difference with the way we get clothes now?

It'd be more like a clothing suggestion. Anyway. I like it the way it is... There's enough simple clothees anyone can make once one's killed a few animals... It's already easy as hell to get some simple cloathes... The fur cloack, the loin cloths, the bikini's, the fur hat, etc... All it needs is a bone needle and a fur scraper/hide scraper...

That's the point, it is simple....too simple. Think of it, what was easier, to dig for iron or to have to make the iron ore from hematite and then have to smelt it? It's not a matter of what is easier, but what makes the game just a little more challenging. You would have to work for your meat and bones and furs. I mean I'm sorry when I go hunting and kill a deer, it doesn't fall to the ground with the meat in one pile, big and small bones in a another pile, and fur in a pile. You have to work for it.
Right now a person can last a long time with a good weapon and an oven, they just have to cook the meat. This is far to easy, lets make it a bit more challenging. As a reward we can have more clothes, as I had mentioned.

I don't like the idea either. It's a good suggestion, sure. But I'm all protective of the bandwidth. Animals (Some at least) are EASY to kill. So the game would be littered with animal bodies on the ground, and gutting projects and such. I like it the way it is. Simplistic, and easy to understand. Plus, it's been this way for awhile. Changing it now would piss some people off >.> - Take the Iron change, for example.

I like this idea.. Its fun when it complicated and hard to understand it makes it all the more challenging

Just to make a point, I do not believe we have a bandwidth problem anymore. That was a problem almost a year ago that was solved.

And projects, and bodies on the ground have nothing to do with bandwidth unless you keep visiting the page over and over again.

indeed it'd only be a problem in messy town's. most of your very industrius town's would clean the animal bodies up very quickly and finish the slaughtering project's. perhap's have something where they dissappear after a certain amount of time.
