Nah, I have a character that always debates locking newspawns up, and always assumes theyre going to steal crap and run. But that is based on their past experience.

Yeah my character discriminates due to past experience as well. But you would be the type of person to have a character like that.
Heartless.

Even longer back there was an epidemic of drama queens causing some kind of upset followed by them going swimming or atlest brooding in the water to get even more attention. That was usually only the start, it got worse from that. *Shudders*
That's nothing, the very worse were the ones who *sit silently staring at the ground, feeling a terrible but familiar painful loneliness in her aching heart and wondering what her boyfriend is doing and will he ever return, and was it her annoyingly intrusive psychic powers that drove him away*

I'm sorry, I have nothing to contribute to this discussion, but that made me giggle. I hate those characters.

That would be it. If someone starts arguing, the arguees just go, "oh yes, yes, sorry...." It's just like British movies, I swear. Ineffectual and ineffectualerer.

I'm trying to stop that phase by having a character who fights even when there's no fight like...
"Man says: you can take some potatoes from the bin"
"You say: I'll take potatoes from the bin! And from where ever else I want!"

I know what you mean. I've got a character that's more the disdainful British type, you know;
"Sure, have some carrots." "Why, thank y--these carrots look disgusting! Dirty, and covered in insects! Absolutely filthy!"

Yay, another one! But sadly, all my really big troublemakers have already died, and one's quickly on his way.

Sometimes troublemakers can be given a second chance but they need to be able to tell when they've gone too far and need to shut up and play nice. That's what separates a successful troublemaker from the dead. If a character steals and is hit, uses every chance to hit back everyone who hits him, gets jailed and refuses to drop things, people have no reason to trust him. People might still not trust him if he dropped his shield but at least people would have a bigger chance of feeling guilty afterwards if they kill him and might be more diplomatic with the next troublemaker. But if a person is calculating their every move and only trying to give in enough to stay alive, people know that the person is slippery and would be dangerous to let him live. Stupid thieves can always be hacked to bits because they don't conceal their actions, but a smart thief might play nice and pretend blending in until he gets a chance to steal something big, and those are harder to catch so unless there is a dire shortage of work force, it's safer to kill them when you have a chance instead of waiting that he comes back with an army. Or not just thieves, think about that guy the McGregors allowed to leave and he tried to raise an army against them. People can only be reformed if they believe they did wrong, while if they believe they were wronged, they will seek vengeance. Good guys/bad guys is a subjective concept.

I've done that in the past. Only when you see other people doing it you realize how awkward it is when a person is spouting information you're supposed to ignore.
