and the right wing US press

Since when is US press right wing!? I thought it was the opposite, and that's what I don't like about it.
I'm gonna assume sarcasm or trolling...

I mean, seriously, have you watched Fox News or CNN?

I wasn't talking about fox news, but CNN!? What are you talking about? You can call CNN right wing, but it isn't really. Fox is still unique.

Ok, center right - which I suppose is about as left as the mainstream gets in the US...

Also, most newspapers, being state-based, are fairly conservative in their outlook, if not purposely so, but just as the default positioning.

Do you think Conservatism is bad?

What about New York times? AOL? Yahoo? Everything else?

Yes, considering the alternative is progressivism... But I guess that's just semantics.

My main point you riffed on wasn't about the politics of journalism, but the quality - particularly that of the writer of the 'Case for Christ' - but with a side-ordering of glib comment about journalism more generally. I might not agree so much with CNN, but it's good quality journalism, as is the NYT. Fox, on the other hand, is painful. It's like ITV news over here - tabloid news gone tele news.

have i made a post here? i don't think so, but this topic has reached over 100 pages so i assume everything that can be said has been said.

i beleive in spiritualism. meaning that i simply beleive in hoping for an afterlife once i die. that's all. i also think that god ( yes i beleive there is a god ) accepts us for who we are and understands why we do the things we do, even if they are really bad things like murder or suicide. i beleive in spirits too, and i beleive that the power of the human spirit is the greatest gift god has given us.

I voted "disagree wit 1,2 & 3" and would do it again. Joining a discussion about religion would lead to serious lawn issues though so I better don't do it.

I do not believe in a god, and don't think any of the religions involving a god are... trustworthy. Although at first the point (as I see it) of religion was to help people, it has now become much more than that and now it's just a lot of trouble. People used to kill "in the name of God", and even now there are constantly arguments about why their own god exists and why someone else's doesn't. Just leave eachother alone and let everyone believe what they want to.

I think religions involving powers of nature could be true, though. As they are less focused on "helping" and thus there is less to "misread" and kill or hate for that reason.

I think religions are misused. That's what I really think.

Of course I do believe in God, and of course I do have a religion, I'm a Muslim. But I still think that people misuse their religions.

Dudeism: I don't care what you do. Just keep it off my lawn!

Technically I am agnostic OR, as I found recently, a 'negative athiest'.

That made me laugh when I read about a 'negative' and 'positive' atheist. The word 'atheist' itself already has NOTHING but negative connotations about it so I got a chuckle. This isn't a, "Bull smit" comment its more of a, "REALLY? *chuckles* I didn't know that. Sorry for being a prick. *smiles*"

Not to be a prick BUT...

Don't you believe in 'a god' not 'god'? You should clarify as the term 'god' has been 'coined' to be synonymous with the 'christian god' or just 'god'. This isn't me saying you are wrong etc but that you might confuse others, myself included. It is only a question and I could be wrong. Like most others my misconceptions about ANY religion leads to me offending. My offense is, however, accidental. :)
