Question about the Current Outage

Postby Elros » Mon Mar 09, 2009 4:19 am

When Cantr comes back up will everything be like it was when it went down or has everything in the Cantr world(ships, food, projects, ect...) been running for the past two weeks?

Since Jos said something about it being restored from backups, then it will most likely continue where it was last backed up, which would be at some point before the outage.

Hopefully it isnt like last time where we lose 3 days of gameplay and have to do everything over again... Last time it went back in time 3 days...

No, I made a new backup after the crash. So it should really all be in the state at the moment the crash happened. When I took the webserver down, I also took the database server down. So the turn-based events could not happen either.

Good to know I won't have to replay three days of cantr lol. Will we be able to view all the events prior to the crash for our charries? Also, on a side note, will we be restarting the unlimited play test? Didn't seem to last too long the first time.

Just a thought. Once the game is up again, maybe we should send an email to all the players about it. There are probably some players that thinks Cantr is down permanent.

That can be done, I think. I'll try to remember.

haha, i'm glad we wont be set back 3 days, when that happened before, it caused a social rift in the french zone between my char's group and one of the main groups they were connected to, the backup was made after he passed some trade goods and before he was given payment, so when it was movin along again, my char got ripped off and the other char's player remembered the trade happening but i had no payment or original items. if i didnt get bored of the zone there woulda been a war rooted from it lol
*note: mark down ur trades on ur comp and keep for a week in case these things happen to avoid wars over ripping people off accidentally lol
