Once someone veiws you post you cannot delete it.

Some of us our moderators in some of the forums and can do that but usually don't.

Is it still the case that most furniture is unusable (bar the recent developments with beds, etc)? I've got a character who's now stuck with an apparently useless wooden shelf that he assumed would be handy for storage. Ho-hum.

I did a search rather than start a brand new topic. You know, forum etiquette and all that... ;)

Anyway, any ideas whether any of the items of furniture live up to their promise. Loads of wood, a couple of tools and a three day investment of time seems a bit of a waste for a shelf that doesn't let you put notes on it (and seems to have no function at all!).

Dammit. I wanted to build some kind of lockable chest to store some items in ( I wanted to use it as a toolbox, specifically, so I could give people access to tools without giving all the Newspawn thieves the same access) I thought there was bound to be such an item under "furniture" (if I could only figure our which item it was). But there was no such thing last year, and there still isn't any such thing, to judge by this thread.

There is; it's called building or room. Or stone extention. Or mud hut. Or whatever structure you can make inside a building or not. You can call it toolbox. Make a nice building lock on it and give the keys to the people you allow to acces the toolbox.

Yeah, I thought of that, T-shirt. And it shouldn't be necessary to extend a building just to get a safe, lockable little bit of storage space for just a few items .Once I've made the tolbox, I've got iother deas, I'd like to impement, like giving those people who don't really need a home of their own (or who don't have the means to invest in one) their own personal locker within a communal living-space. And like storing my valuables in a nicesafe place , where I wouldn 't have to compromise security by handing a key to the the Town Authorities (who usually insist on holding keys to all the buildings and to all the rooms within those buildings. Whole towns have been robbed in five minutes flat, due to that pactice of having all the keys held by one single , vulnerable person . Presumably , though, all but the most paranoid of local Authorities would draw the line at asking for keys to every single little chest and locker as well)
