Well, looking around... how?

*looks around* in what angle?
Are you looking at the ceiling? The floor? Just at the people that are present?

*looks at all the people present*
*looks all over the floor*
*looks at the ceiling*

Hmm.. *shrugs* I don't think *looks around* is the best way to do it. I'm sort of okay with it though.

I usually try to elaborate more on the action of looking than to use the slightly clichéd *looks around* - however there is really nothing wrong with using the phrase.

*Starts to feel a little embarrased at all the characters of his that use that phrase*

Although in my defence I don't normally say it by itself, usually my character speaks as their doing it, usually related to the *looking around* but not always. But as some of you said, *looks around* sounds fairly generic but accurate description of how others would see your character when doing such a thing.

I write '*looks around*' in the same rate as *Wiro writes '*shrugs*'.

It is for me, simply the act of looking around at the location, observing the people without a certain target. More information would be needless and I avoid it so I won't turn my speech into a paragraph. The great wall of text is evil. I mean, if is not necessary or it doesn't sounds better, why should I write more than that?

And it is even better that is a cliché. The fact that many people write it down means that few will crucify me for it. *looks around and laughs evily*

Dudel likes *looks around* as one character I don't want people to know what he is looking at.

Edit: Then again I also use *looks around for...*, *looks around the...* and *looks around at...*. Depends on my mood really. :)

I can only agree to this
Welke sadist kwam er op het idee om een "s" in het woord slissen te zetten?

Should I be glad I don't know who that is? Is she just annoying because she talks too much?
