Are you sure they're not written by cheaters? Since the Finnish region has at least one note written in English that totally shouldn't be there.

Well, I think some of them may have been written by cheaters (the ones found in the interior) but my charrie found some notes by the coast - probably by explorers. One charrie also met an English explorer charrie. :)

One of my guys knows where Aki is. but it's a closely guarded secret as I understand it. I found a note with some general instructions and did find it pretty easily. It's at an odd angle, so you're likely to miss it unless you're looking.
Several people hint at the location in notes and maps, but doesn't give any specifics.

Dude, you really are the Cantr Freak!

Anyway, there aren't exactly official names for islands in the Portuguese region.

I've had two chars lucky enough to both spawn on some of the rarer islands. One mention in this thread, one not. The sheer lack of population (and what population there is, is made up of foreign language sailors) is quite frustrating. Unless you have a hermit character, I guess, then you're set!

As to their location, from both in-game and out-of-game knowledge, I'm still none the wiser! :D

you can sail any place if you do it long enough but no one knows the headings so no one tries though once and awhile a ship full of people who dont speak engish land on shore and lot of them stay for some odd reasom so no its not cheaters and how the fuck would that matter any ways it's not cheating cause its not doing anything any ways.

It matters because a group may have had contact with foreigners but if a foreign note appears, they can see that it has a structure so it's not all gibberish. So they learn that there are other languages even though they should have no knowledge of such a thing. Also on the Russian region the original dictionary was certainly not written by a native Russian. Since what I learned in game is that the word for iron in it means an iron that is used to iron clothes. Cantrians shouldn't know that word because there are no such things in Cantr. So everybody who relies on the dictionary will end up sounding like they looked things up in an off-site dictionary. Dictionaries that are not based on exchange of information in game are stealing the joy of learning from those people who actually want to make an effort to do it properly.

let me remind you it's a game so get a life. and people explore moron like ever people on earth did it's what we did and the newisland has lots of diffrent people on it so it's part of the game idiot. If they did not want us to mingle we would not be able to sail that far.

Behave, there's no need to be so disrespectful.

It is cheating when someone uses OOC knowledge - AKA a CRB.

Watch your tone.

And I think you're missing the point (as far as I can make sense of your post). The problem is not characters mixing up, but players using OOC knowledge.

edit: You were quicker, Wiro.

The original comment was about the Chinese island Torkess mentioned. It had nothing to do with you so why are you being so defensive? Are you feeling guilty about something? If people who have been here longer than you have say that something is a CRB then you better listen and not start arguing about it 'cause it's just drawing negative attention towards yourself.

If an English note is found in the middle of dry land in a community where no one knows where the coast is and all the people present have also spawned in that particular town, there's about 0% chance that a legitimate foreigner had been there or met one of the people.
