It just comes across as lazy-ass play, emoting for the sake of nothing and not signifying or achieving anything.

If you're searching in a particular area for someone or something, is it really that hard to say so?

To me it usually means looking around to find a certain person, but the person isn't there so if I said "looks around for X" then that would be conveying a thought in rp and someone might read my character's mind and say "Oh, you're looking for X? She's in the Y building." when in fact, the interpretation should be done on who the character normally communicates with.

The good thing about Adam is that he causes a lot of drama and action, the game would be much more boring without him. There's just the problem that most people who run into him end up dead. And the player can't spell.

I gotta say Landis is totally getting on Jaina's nerves. I'll be so glad when/if things go back to normal.

Of ALL the people in that area right now... Landis irks you?

Dudel is getting mad at this Palen person personally but my character is cool (The noise started SEVERAL days ago so I'm sure I can say something like that)

Not like the others weren't also annoying, the general atmosphere is irritating, but Jaina has a personal reason of being annoyed by Landis.

I have aboslutely no clue what's this about, but I'm still giving my opinion :P :D

If he's nice, what's the problem?
If he's pissing your char off, ignore him!

lol.. you have a point... but then... people don't know what others are looking around at... they can just see them looking around. *shrug*

It could be looking around at everything, or everyone or looking around for a specific person. Like Seko was saying, your char shouldn't be privy to what they're actually looking for- they need to guess or ask or whatever... like say.. "What are you looking for?" Or something like "Are you looking for someone?" It's a prompt... not a story.

Encourages some interaction and maybe you'll find out something interesting or boring about that person. "Oh, nothing." <-- boring person or someone concealing their reasons... "I was looking around for a giant Cantrian-eating Jukamapa." <-- crazy person that might be interesting..

To me;
*looking around*
Means someone simply walks in, looks around the room, and then either finds what he/she is looking for, or they don't. I do think, however, that he/she should say that in the *'s

If they're looking for something, then it might not be out of the way to say they *looks around and spies what she needed*... but if they're just looking around to observe what's going on... then there's no need.

And I don't think there's a need to define whether you found what you were looking for or not. Unless you talk to someone or pick up something- they still aren't going to know if you found what you were looking around for or not without asking or you saying something about it.

I mean really.. in real life, if you see someone looking around a room, you're either going to ask or ignore them- but you won't know what they were looking for without them saying something or finding something obviously. And people don't look around a room necessarily looking for something/someone all the time either. A robber might go in a bank and look around... but they're casing the joint, not looking for something specific. Either way, you can't read the mind of a person looking around a room. A person may appear to have found what they were looking for or not... but you can only guess.

As long as he doesn't reveal thoughts in the emotions, he should say the most he can.

What, you didn't notice? I guess I'm doing a good job in hiding it then.

Exactly!
So *looking around* Is indeed correct!

I don't agree. You do not have to go in to specific details... That would make simple things too long!
