Remove eating sickness and sneezes.
I think the eating sickness was once implemented to make people bury corpses or something like that. It's not doing its job. People are not burying corpses now in fear of running out of food. (One char that I know of may even die because of burials)
Similarly, remove the sneezes. It was perhaps interesting for a while seeing it progress over the population. But now nobody cares, it's just an annoyance that lights up your char. It serves no purpose at all anymore (did it ever?).

I also agree...
Also the onset of the sneezes and sickness seemed to correlate (in my memory at least) with a big decrease in players (very likely im mistaken, but its just how I 'members these things)

I don't think they should be removed, but they should be made more logical. Sneezes should mostly be contagious through whispering, with only a small chance of catching them otherwise.
The eating sickness should be drastically toned down because it's not natural for people to eat several kilos a day. There should also be a cap to how much a person can eat daily, for example 1 or 2 kilos and if they would need more than that then the rest should occur as hunger that cannot be satisfied that day.
The sickness would only be caught from corpses in a certain stage of deterioration, for example 0% risk for the first day, growing to max by day 5 and going back to 0% by day 10. It would follow Gaussian distribution and the duration and intensity of the risk period would be a find out in-game kind of issue. Grave diggers and corpse draggers would be more likely to catch the sickness than people who never touch the bodies but using a shovel and maybe gloves would reduce the risk.

Yea.. I would never have had an issue with the eating sickness if it were more logical to a degree. And I tried suggesting more logical implementations way back when.

I don't mind the sneezes, yes they annoy me when lighting up my chars (I see that as a problem more to do with what should light up a char rather than the sneezes itself!!), my issue is with the frequency.
I have chars that seem to sneeze at least once a day.. which just seems overkill. Maybe tone it down a bit?
I have no idea what this eating sickness thing is?

The eating sickness seems quite random, for me there has always been a corpse or an unfinished burial project present when it occurred but some people have reported it happening suddenly in the middle of the sea on a boat that has never had a corpse on it. (Maybe that was a bug.) On regions where few people die and corpses are buried fast, the sickness might not occur, while on regions where corpses are left lying around someone is eventually bound to catch it. Chase, maybe your characters have been living in neat places.

The sneezing tends to irritate some of my characters because it's untidy and can be cured. Many of the town leaders try to eradicate it; with various degrees of success. But because it's not harmful there's no imperative to try and do anything about it. Perhaps if a sneeze added 10% to tiredness we'd see a lot more effort toward quarantining people; even by force. Tiredness reduces your effectiveness at everything - fighting, dragging, working - so people won't tolerate that so well.
I haven't noticed any correlation between events and the eating sickness but it worries me. I have to spend periods away from the computer at times and I have to stock my characters up with food. So the eating disease is the single biggest threat to their lives. Yes, I know that means my characters live sheltered lives... but they do! For the most part!!

The first day my weaker than average character was in a swamp, she got the eating sickness and it didn't go away untill she was in another non-swamp place.
There might be various reasons for a char to get sick, I thought maybe that this would be a possible reason.

There might've been bodies there, I don't know. It was back when I just started. :S

It would really be a lot better if you don't try to find patterns on those diseases by discussing it on the forum, but in game
... Capital rule applies here too. If you want to understand the disease, start a doctor character, who writes down everything he/she can see about the disease, and try to find correlations ... but in-game please!
