i had posted further up but thoght i should post in this topic for sake of finding it.
i was suggesting a sort of development of characters not like skill levels but just development, such as physical development allows a person to walk/run faster, makes wight less significant when it comes to slowing a person down. makes you generally healthier (effective if/when illnesses and poisons are implemented) allows a person to dish out and take slightly more damage. also greater strength would increase chances of making a hit and decrease chances of getting hit.
strength could increase from just focussing on the option to "workout" but also increases from doing a lot of mining of heavy materials such as limestone, stone, gold.
as for intelligence i think it would be good for allowing people to build things faster, building smarter should result in building faster since you would better know what you were doing, as for developing a greater amount of intelligence it could prehaps come from actually manufacturing and building things the easier the project the less intelligence you gain from it, also in combination with other suggestions such as dometicating/taming animals the smarter you are the better you are at it, taming animals becomes easier with intelligence.

as for possible psi development, (try not to instantly thing of a world with massive magic and the sort) it can be made realistic such that it takes a very large amount of psi to do anything with it, possibly telepathy (ranged, both people must be within eachother's range to communicate), also high psi would make animals calmer and less likely to attack you. possibly adding in healing skills that a person with psionic development can help heal themselves or another (like i said it would take a lot of psi development and it would only be a little bit of healing, not like a powerful spell, more like as long as your focussing on the healing task it increases the rate of healing such as an extra strength point per hour depending on psi level), also the ability to use psi force to reinforce the locks on a door to prevent people from getting through with a crowbar unless they also have psi or soemone else helping that has psi to get through.
again i must state that psi development would require a great investment of time and effort (lengthy times of meditation to increase psi power) and would only have mild efects, not massive fantasy effects

actually all the 3 development categories should be mild effects rather than extreem but still noticeable enough to be worth while.

Okay, I'm just having a massive knee-jerk reaction against paranormal abilities in Cantr. No telepathy. It would just be another skill. It wouldn't lead to any more interesting societal changes than another, more realistic skill.

As for the other things, if (big "if" there, I am strongly against abilities) they were to be to be implemented, viktor's proposals would be a fine way to implement them.

I'm also very much against telepathic skills.
I find it interesting that some people in the game play their characters as wizards etc, but I wouldn't want any firebolts or strange Jedi tricks in Cantr :)

Yes I prefer not to have telepathic abilities. I play this game because it is realistic and you build a society with others.

I already have telepathy...

A woman in her twenties say: Hello all **thinks this is a quiet town*"

You say: Too quiet for you, huh?

On the skills. I think it would be a good idea to just display stats on your strength base on your health%. I mean I hate it when I'm too low in health and hit someone at 100% strength and make an ass out of myself by doing 0% damage.
