Probably, I'd set up a government in which I have have total power, but hide that fact behind a veil of supposed freedoms. As for what I'd do first... probably get the town started on its way to industrialization. And definately establish a solid power base among the elite of the town and surrounding areas in case of revolt.

I was in the process of doing so with one of my characters.. And then I quit. Ah, well.

Most of my charries are on their fifties now... most of them are leaders too... some invented the political government... others grew up inside already established political kind of government...

Let me tell you...

It doesn't matter. What it matters is the kind of active players you have with you... next to you... helping you out.

Most of the times I feel I am always being hold on by the others... like different speeds... sometimes even different goals...

Some of my charries have just given up and became nomads! Lonely nomads!

How about that for a government type? 8)

The government I am currently involved with is creating a rather unique form of government.

A religious branch which ensures all actions are in accordance with its dogma.

A military branch that ensures the security of the nation.

and an executive branch that manages the administrative tasks for the nation such as trade, resource management, manufacturing, building, etc.

The only type of gov. that will work depends on the number of active people in the area... to be more precise... the # of trustred peoplel in the area. And if you want to expand.... you go ahead and find the person that wants to be the govenor of a peice of land that has no valuable recource.
