I saw some theory about boys who have lots of older brothers having a larger chance to become gay as the scent of boys or something sticks in the mom's belly... There are lots of things, but I don't think it's possible to become gay or to be born gay. It just... dunno...

And you can't hate a certain group. There are different people in each of these group... Unless you hate all of them. =S It's like... you can't hate the nazis as there were good people too. Just because they HAD to do it, else they'd be killed. :/ Kill to kill, strongest will survive. ._.

Religion can be a little weird though. Jews hating their own children and kicking them out of the house for being gay, or muslims cutting their daughter's belly open to get the fetus out of her because she got it when she was raped. Or christians forcing their religion on others.
I mean, this whole religion thing was meant to be something to make life better, not worse. Isn't that what everyone wants? To be able to live happily with others? So why ruin other people their fun? Why ruin other people their lives for something some rapist did, or because they're gay?
It's so ridiculous how far some religious people go. But it's also ridiculous how far atheists go. As Seko said, the stuff like "Haha you has a imaginary friend" is just as sick as forcing your religion on others.

And I don't like to think of humans as a better being that animals or anything else on this planet. In fact, humans have so many flaws... :/ A few stated above here.

Hmmmm.... The beatiful white coating embracing the houses, streets and cars is shining for me. :) I love snow. Too bad it's merely silvery powdery snow. Not good to make Snow-people :( No snowballs either. Oh well, I get to watch it all day so no complaining here. :) I love watching it all day, without doing any schoolwork at all. Teachers don't notice a thing, so why would I care? Oh, speaking about school. Tommorow's some dumb English thing where you need to chatter about some random subject for 1 minute.
Last time I did it about Pippi longstocking :) But no idea what to do it about this time.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

Haha, smartass. :)

I read about that too. The mother's system builds up antidotes because the Y chromosome is something totally alien to it. The more older brothers a boy has, the higher the chance of being gay. But just because someone is attracted to people of their own sex doesn't necessarily mean they should act upon those desires. The same as how an unmarried heterosexual shouldn't act on one's desires either.

Also, I've read some religious person writing that if their son or daughter turned out to be gay, she wouldn't love him any less even though she would disapprove of his or her lifestyle.

And you can't hate a certain group. There are different people in each of these group... Unless you hate all of them. =S It's like... you can't hate the nazis as there were good people too. Just because they HAD to do it, else they'd be killed.

I totally agree. I hate it when people are awful hypocrites and whine about some old German people having Nazi affiliations when it was pretty much the case that either you adjusted to the system or you were sent to a prison camp. I've read there was no unemployment in Nazi Germany, family values were held dear and people were encouraged to get fresh air and exercise. Should those things be swept under the carpet just because the same country was discriminating and murdering people? I've said in other places that many people who condemn Nazi's now would've been likely to go with the flow, had they been born in that society. It takes courage to think outside the box and make one's thoughts known.

christians forcing their religion on others.
I mean, this whole religion thing was meant to be something to make life better, not worse.

Well if one thinks that their religion is the only way to eternal salvation then one might consider it cruel not to inform others about it - But no one can actually force someone to have faith. You can force a person to perform religious rituals but you can't change the way they feel inside.

Just one thing, why do some people feel offended if someone says they pray for them? If you are an atheist and don't believe that prayer works then there should be no danger involved. And if the person is praying for you then their mind is occupied and they're not planning a protest rally against gays or designing chick tracts. If one thinks that the Christian would be wasting his time no matter what he does then one might as well encourage him to pray because that will keep him from more doing harm.

This one chick in art school who was some sort of a pagan used reiki or something on me, trying to heal my headache. I felt a bit awkward about it because the Bible says not to do such things but if I didn't request it and didn't believe it would work then it can't really touch me. So I appreciated the gesture, even though the method was inappropriate for me.

And I don't like to think of humans as a better being that animals or anything else on this planet.

Humans may be flawed but they're still capable of impressive things. I think people should be proud of what they are capable of instead of disregarding it all just because they realized chimpanzees can use tools or that dolphins are smart. People may be lacking in some aspects, not having the eyes of an octopus or the nose of a dog, or the speed of a cheetah but still overall I think we're pretty amazing.

Seko, just think of reiki as faith healing. That's pretty much what it boils down to.

Besides, it actively promotes the reiki precepts which I'm sure you'd agree with.

It's to be said to yourself each morning and kept to:

Just for today I shall not worry,

Just for today I shall not anger,

Just for today I shall honour my parents, teachers and elders,

Just for today I shall earn my living honestly,

Just for today I shall show gratitude to every living thing.

And out of curiosity, what would your reaction be if I said I would perform a Pagan healing spell upon you without consent?

I hate how people say the "I love you, but I don't approve of the way you live". It's like they're trying to make you feel sorry about it without directly offending you so "technically" they're not doing anything wrong at all.
But still they make you feel like you're doing something wrong. That's just one of the things I really, really hate. And it's not just religious people who say stuff like that, a lot of people do.

And sure, you don't necessarily have to enjoy life at all, but you'll feel horrible then. Same thing with love. You can ignore it, but I doubt you will actually become happy. Fooling yourself into thinking you ARE happy is one of these stupid "solutions".

And yeah, Nazi Germany was great. Even though I disagree with forcing children to go into the Hitler Jugend and the Deutsche Bundes Mädel to secretly prepare them for a job as soldier in the army or life as a mother, most other ideas are really good. But they were sexists, the Nazi leaders.
Women = stay home and make lots of soon-to-be soldiers.
Men = work hard in the army.
Not to mention that hypocrite of a Hitler using all kinds of new ideas and technology to reach the German people, but still banning all kinds of newer ideas like with art. But there were lots of people encouraged to go outside and exercise, as you said. We saw some film about Nazi Germany WITHOUT talking about the killing and stuff at school. If it were like that, Nazi Germany would be a great place. I am sure that without World War 2, there'd be a lot less money in lots of countries though. Sure, it was horrible. But lots of people here wouldn't be able to live in luxury like they do if WOI and WOII never happened.

And I'm not talking about people who go "God is real!" but those who are like "*puts foot inbetween door and wall* AT LEAST READ THESE BOOKS!! THEY'RE ONLY €30!". They are just annoying and if they would stop coming after one time it'd be ok. But they keep coming with books and stories and they are just plain rude. Of course not all of them are. But the ones that always pop up in our street are always the same rude people that even KNOCK ON THE WINDOW and keep ringing the doorbell.

I don't feel offended when someone prays for me. I think it's cool even though I don't believe there's a god. I do believe it helps though: hoping for something to happen or for someone to be safe. Just not that there's someone else who helps in making this happen.

Oh, and I'm proud of what I can do, but I feel sick when I think about what others do. Some people just abuse their abilities as a human.

Well, the reason why there was no unemployment was basically that everyone was busily building weapons. The nazi economy wasn't stable to. If there hadn't been the war the whole system would have collapsed in a matter of years because they were expending more money than they had to draw the people on their side.
Traditional family values played indeed a great role, but today this is usually interpreted as a means to increase the birth rate in order to get workers for the factories, soldiers for the army and to generally increase the number of superior people.
Feminists complain about the repressiveness of those values a lot too these days.

I think so too. Humans are fascinating organisms (as are termites, rats and cyanobacteria). We shouldn't be proud of it but we don't need to be ashamed of it either. After all humans are still a part of nature whatever we may think.

I think it's pretty annoying that people always imply that humans are sooo stupid and animals are so much smarter and morally superior, because they don't cause ozone holes, global warming and so on and didn't invent world wars, witch burning and factory farming.

They don't coose not to do it, they are not capable to do it, damn it! If a cow builds a factory and chooses to tear it down again because it's bad for the environment, then I would be impressed, but praising the eunuch for living chastely is just plain stupid.
Pretty in pink.

I'd say I wish you wouldn't, but if you insist on doing it then that wouldn't offend me. It's comparable to how in the New Testament it is said that if someone happens to eat meat that has been sacrificed to a pagan god, that doesn't taint you in any way but if someone especially tells you that "this here is sacrificial meat to <insert god's name here>" then a Christian should refuse to eat it for the other person's sake, not for their own sake.

But if there is only the one god, then surely it wouldn't matter if the meat had been dedicated to a pagan deity?

I'm cool with any religion myself, I just don't understand some of the contradictions in many orthodox religions.

It's not just Orthodox religions that are fraught with discrepancies in their lore. But they're human constructions, and therefore imperfect.

The problem is that even though there is just one God, there are plenty of spirits that may call themselves a god and gain followers. They were originally angels that joined Lucifer in the rebellion and were cast out of Heaven. So in other words demons, but the word demon makes people think of critters with horns and hooves and that distracts people from the fact that they may assume other kinds of shapes. If someone worships a demon, it is harmful to them mentally and even physically. I've read about people being diagnosed with holes in their internal organs caused by being in touch with demons. Might not be a reliable source but I remember reading that.

But from my viewpoint, there are many many deities (easily more than I can count) although one may claim to be the only one either out of mischief or a desire for more power.

As for demons, I came across one once, believe me you'd know it if you did.

Demons can be very deceitful.
