Drow was the official language of Drojf before the Maynard Leeward massacred Drojf back in the old days. In fact there are still a few notes floating around in Drow. James recently found one and threw it out.
If I can find the site that translates to Drow to English or English to Drow then I will consider thinking about maybe talking Jos into creating a Drow Language area.
Anyone interested?

How about old English? I was reading a book recently about how differenct Old English was back around the 15th Century. It is amazing how much has changed in the English language to the point where if someone spoke Modern English and someone spoke Old English they wouldn't understand each other while most modern language would most likely understand its older versions. But the English language is really a combination of hundreds of languages over hundreds of years so maybe that is why.

But you are just talking the drow language here?
Having drow in a drow setting would take away from the semi-realism the game has now. So these humans can talk like drow, act drowish, but would be on the surface with fairly normal resources and animals.
If we ever get to 10,000 living chracters in the current setting I think it would be a good time to have a seperate fantasy setting.
But to have a subsurface world that connects to a surface world would take coding. Now a totally subsurface world actually fits in nicely with the way paths work today.
I still want an island in this game where:
1) wood is plentful
2) easy vegitable food is nowhere replaced by something that provides only four meals a day maximum.
3) fairly tame big animals (elk) are common
4) there is many inlets and fjords that make travelling by boat faster than by land
5) there is only one non-wood, non-food resource per location
6) usable stone is only found near the outer coasts where there is no other resource but possibly fish.
7) And english of course
With people centric spawning a real migratory society could be simulated in this way. All other islands it is too easy to just stay put or carry enough food around to eat for years on end.
Of course a tropical forest region with a large river system (that would be part of the sea really) would be just as good.
Or a desert river system would work too.
