Yes, it's like:
- Kill 10 dark jedi with force lightning, finish the last one off with light saber.
- Go into next room, kill 10 dark jedi with force lightning, level up
- Go into next room, THREE SITH LORDS ALL POWER ATTACK ME AT ONCE *dies* RAGE!!!! QUICK LOAD! F9F9F9!, Rise and repeat.
Then
- Almost kill sub-boss with cracked grey skin about 10 times before he either dies or you turn him to the light side.
- Quick Save.
- Kill Kreia with one attack, then:
- Either Finish her off then and there like she wants, watch the final cinematic, check your Cantr chars, go to sleep or w/e
- OR Stubbornly refuse to kill her and RUN LIKE MAD from the three disembodied lightsabers she summons, turn around, kill them one by one, then go back to Krei and finish her off, listen to her predictable answers to your final questions, realise all dialogue options are exhausted and anything else would be a gameloop, let her die, watch credits, etc...

Still I kind of like the story. Especially when you can fall in love with that Miraluka chick. ^^

Carth? .. was the soldier, mr Goody Goody. (Pimp slap!)

Yup, he has two interesting endings, if you choose to talk to him much:
- Evil: Make Wookie with lifedebt to you kill Twilek girl, lololol, then Carth goes mad and runs away into the wilderness
- Good/Female: Ask for it all through the game, then get rewarded with a romantic/sex scene at the end

K 47 was the 'evil' robot or thats what I called him.

"Statement: HK-47 is ready to serve, master."

There was an odd R2 type unit too, almost usless.

T3-M4, reappears as a playable character in KotOR II as well as HK-47.

This chick.... whaa whaa emo emo cut cut... Sorry that was my empression. My brain says her name was infact Bassillica or something similar but I don't remember. I think it was Basila.

Lololol, nice description. Yes, she was a self-righteous, indulgent, pious, (sexy) emo Jedi whore. I enjoyed watching her being tortured by Malak -- I loled inside when I saw she had been turned evil.

There was the mandalorian- He had a tude but was cool with what ever you did. Also helped get the Ebon Hawk. That I remember the name of.

Yeah, what was his name... <Something> Ordo, I think...

OH and the cat chick if you saved her: She blames you for the distruction of her home world which was the one you where stuck on saving Bassila(?). I liked saving the 'cat chick' then going to the Sith planet and letting her kill that dude. Its funny!

Lol, the funniest part is when you can go "a cat is fine too" and start hitting on her. xD It doesn't lead anywhere though

OH and looking inside the box your not saposed to look into and challanging the first jedi race dude to a riddle contest. NUMBERS! Why did it have to be numbers.

Lol yeah, the forbidden box. Of course you're going to look inside, but that's what the Save button is for. :)

Well I used the heart grip of death thing in KOTOR II. So they literally were crushed like paper. Even on the 'uber' Jedi/Sith Lords. It was weak the story Arch was so lame I just counld not play it a second time. I didn't even want to quick save and see all the endings.

Also did not know you could fall in love with the Miraluka chick. *Forgets who joo is even talking about.

Yup, he has two interesting endings, if you choose to talk to him much:

I knew about the first one and it made me laugh. "Yes Wookie. KILL THE NON BELIEVER!" Wookie shrugs and ground pounds Twilek in the FACE!

"Statement: HK-47 is ready to serve, master."

I loved asking HK-47 things. Meatbag! He called Mallak a meatbag and I/You/Main character decided to keep the phrase. I can hear him in my head.

Reasuring Statement: Yes master, of course master!

OH... The SandPeople and HK-47 says something like;

Quirrey: Why not kill the SandPeople and take the gaffie stick. (Which I did once they let me into their leaders hut  )

Stupid Jawas and there jiberish!

T3-M4, reappears as a playable character in KotOR II as well as HK-47.

Found HK-47 in KOTOR II but he didn't seem to be as amusing as before. It was weird. Don't remember much about T3-M4 but like I said. He was usless.

Lololol, nice description. Yes, she was a self-righteous, indulgent, pious, (sexy) emo Jedi whore. I enjoyed watching her being tortured by Malak -- I loled inside when I saw she had been turned evil.

OH yeah hot evil chick I so dig ya! Black Jedi Guy freaks out we boh kill him. I laugh!

Yeah, what was his name... <Something> Ordo, I think...

Ortho?

Lol, the funniest part is when you can go "a cat is fine too" and start hitting on her. xD It doesn't lead anywhere though

Yeah I remember hitting on the cat but I did not find it too funny. Got a chuckle out of me once in a while.

Lol yeah, the forbidden box. Of course you're going to look inside, but that's what the Save button is for. :)

Yes I am Captain Paranoid save before you open the box... Wait where am I... Whoa that the heck is that!? Riddles what?

I just remembered the Black Jedi guy in Kashik forest. Oh killing those little things for the sacs was funny too. Coward mandelorians and the attack when I have no weapon... Poo on you! Wait how about I slice you with my duel weild lightsaber. Not the double saber because you can't optimise it too well.

One regular saber and a short sort, red or purple color.

Wait is this topic going to get locked now because of the KOTOR stuff?

Ha! The evil Sith Lord Raven kills this topic with KOTOR!

I have no idea what you boys are on about, but this:

joo wrote:Lol yeah, the forbidden box. Of course you're going to look inside, but that's what the Save button is for. :)

..is called save-scumming, and another reason why I love nethack to death... 'oops, shouldn't have done that - bam, you're dead, end of story' no reloading because a 'save' command equates to 'save and exit', not 'save and keep playing'. HEH. nasty, but great.

I too die a little inside when part of the story of a game is spoilt for me when I reload after making a bad decision... but not as much as I do when I lose days or weeks of progress in a single-player game. Thinking about it logically, it would take me a very long time to actually complete the game if I created a new character every time one died - the story would get extremely boring as well.

But I do enjoy the thrill of playing a hardcore character on Diablo II (That means you can Save and Exit, but once you die, you die - this is enforced by the server, which does not let you save a copy of your character locally.

Seeing as this thread seems to have meandered so far off topic it will never recover...

Ah, permanent character death.. another fascinating and controversial discussion topic. :D

In a single-player game like nethack, where I've played a single game for months and then been killed off by one wrong move (hitting one key, ouch! makes you a real careful typist though!), it's produced in me a highly rebellious attitude of playing out of sheer frustration and pig-headedness in that it has killing off my character thousands of times with such.. malice.. and often, humour (coining the term among players "Yet Another Stupid Death"). grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. It just keeps me going back, again and again - since I was 10 years old.. I am quite positively, addicted.

It is very much a love-hate relationship between me and that game.. if you hadn't noticed.

Does eithor CantrSpy or CantrMoniter have less chance to get that error message lie about the server being updated?

Dudel, what do you mean?

Sometimes when I play Nethack and I know I'm screwed, like after getting my armor disintegrated by a black dragon or by having my ring of levitation destroyed while I'm behind the castle, separated from the exit by moats and a closed drawbridge I can't open, I turn off my computer using the power switch and that allows me to restart from the beginning of the level. Actually I should just play it in explorer mode for once. There's some stuff I could've never figured out without spoilers and other stuff I've read about but never actually done because I don't have the needed stats or items. It's hard enough finding food. Many times I've made myself permanently invisible and that's handy for avoiding monsters but there's the problem of not getting into stores. Although you could use mummy wrappings but then you'd need to get it uncursed somehow.

At random peek times for Cantr I get a diffrent window that says the server is being backedup. I know this not to be true because the time it gives for the backup is usually several hours before or after the current message being displayed. (Aprox 2 hours)

Is the time for the backup listed incorrectally on this page or does it really take the sever 12 hourse to make the backup?

I was askng because I randomly get this message and random times during the day. It also happens more after I have tried to sign in then it redirects me to that page and I have to sign in again.

Siging in again isn't a problem but it does tend to annoy at times.

Does that explain what I am speaking about better?

That's what I thought, I just had to check that I'd understood you correctly. It's because the game displays that page every time it can't connect to the database, no matter what reason. It was written back when the game was only down for back-upping. Nowadays there is no scheduled downtime, sometimes it just goes down. It would sound a bit unprofessional if the message said "Sorry, could not connect to database for some reason. I got no idea why, but hopefully it'll start working in a bit."
