Depends. Just saying you can use magic and doing things that ARE possible (so not *throws magic fire over everyone*) is ok.

I did that before, when I was very, very new to Cantr and even did such stupid things as roleplaying thinking. :P

It's usually not appreciated and isn't actually possible. So I would say it wouldn't be allowed.

But I'm not a PD member, so don't rely on it too much.

If he can do that I'd say he can use magic.. :D

If he only believes he does I see no breach or problem.

What about that?

CR wrote:There is one rule that governs the interaction among the characters in Cantr II.

While each individual player is allowed to have multiple characters, those characters MUST be separate and distinct individuals. This has several ramifications for the game:
# Your characters are not automatically a family, a clan, a tribe, an army, a company, or so on - not necessarily even friends. They should have their own interests and goals. They should not know each other unless they happen to meet. If two of your characters interact, they should do so as though each were looking out for their own interests and goals - essentially, as though the other character were being played by a stranger. Describing your characters as a family, banding all of your characters together to form an army, or starting a character solely to produce goods or perform services for the benefit of another one of your characters (making a `mule` character) are all violations of this aspect of the Cardinal Rule.
# Your characters do not automatically know what your other characters have seen or done. If you have a character in Cantr City, that character should not know that there`s been a revolution to overthrow the Empress of Blojt and establish democracy until someone travels from Blojt to Cantr City to spread the news, even if you have another character in Blojt. Discussing events that happened elsewhere Until the news has spread by in-game means is a violation of this aspect of the Capital Rule.
# Similarly, a multi-location organization should not exist without some member of the organization fairly traveling from one location to the other - ABC Corporation should not open offices in Cantr City and Blojt, unless someone travels from Cantr City to Blojt (quite a trip!) to open the second office. The creation of organizations should take place in the game - not among your personal characters, and not offline among your friends who also play unless you have legitimate in-game contact.

does not mention any about magic and/or FX

Info for new players wrote:ALSO: Cantr II is set in a fairly realistic world. The technology level is strange - it is possible to build cars and helicopters in a world where a state-of-the-art tool is likely to be a pitchfork - but there is no magic of any kind built into the game. (Now, if your character wants to pretend there`s magic, or believe things have happened by the power of some god, that`s another matter...)

They shouldn't bend the laws of the world because it might give them an unfair advantage.

Edit: Oh and you shouldn't force things upon others. If you are dictating what they see and they think it was physically impossible, they'll be forced to ignore you and that ruins the game. What if this person was throwing lightning bolts? What if he was throwing sleeping spells and demanding that people drop all their stuff because they're supposed to fall unconscious? If we allow small magic then where to draw the line?

One thousand rites of the key-dropping demons! *fires white orbs at everyone in town and laughs* Mwhahaha, now you are all forced to drop your keys.

That'd be weird.
I'd prefer using coincidences to your advantage.

I wouldn't accept that, only accept if he says he does it and then treat him like an insane IG.

¿locura?
Puedes pretender que pasen algunas cosas, pero, quienes están en tu entorno, pueden decidir si creen o no

Char1:*enciende una luz sobre una vara*
Char2:seguramente eso es una luciérnaga
Char3:*Ríe*

You can write anything you want outside of the asterisks (not literally, of course - the CR still applies to speech), but when RPing something, it has to be something that is physically possible and within the mechinics of the game. If you RP doing something that affects other characters physically, or something which your character isn't able to do (for example, *jumps 50 metres into the air and lands gracefully on her feet*) then you are putting other players in a difficult situation when they have to make up an excuse for what you just "did," or ignore you and/or send you an OOC message. None of these are conducive to good gameplay.
