It could also bring some new kinds of... hmm... "Roleplay" for people like Joo.

And I agree. One of my characters is shy and never knows if what she's doing is right, but works hard all the time and cares about everyone around her.

Have you ever played a character with a split personality? It can be fun to play those, too. :P

I dream of introducing a new religion to Cantr, and getting enough followers to go up into the mountains and create some sort of monastery type thing. But, goddangit, everyone's a skeptic! They all dismiss my character as insane and occasionally attack him!

My Favorite charrie wants power. The only things stopping him are the people around him just to damn lazy to see how great he is and how they vote for the other people because they are already in power.

All in all a rather generic goal.

Developing a society along the lines of language, culture, religion would be really awesome. I know some people have goals along these lines, and I think we can all agree that starting a new religion is really difficult. If there were more players willing to be a little crazy and have their characters follow a religious leader, (rather than the ambition to be a religious leader) that would help a lot. As it is, I think characters in general just don't see anything very meaningful in religious claims. It's this meaning that I think is the key to developing a religion, as well as culture, language, and such.

So, with that in mind, what I endeavor to do is have my characters look for meaning in their experiences and interactions, and generally be disinterested in gathering wealth.

That goes for for all aspects of the game, not just the religious parts. Maybe it's just an inherent trait for people drawn to cantr to just hate "following". :p But it sure seems like most characters are unwilling to bow down to anyone, be it a prized combatant, a masterful idealist, a prophet, whatever.

That's why I have about 4 "Champion" characters... Ones that I try to give reason to be followed. The bulk remainder of my 15-pack are more or less mules to be tended to ;) The important part is that my "Champ" chars aren't always explicitly vain. They'll still fall after someone if the time arises when it's appropriate to do so.. It's just a little bit harder ;) The "mules" might still ever aspire for political positions of leadership, etc, but might be more prone to bend the knee, donating their towns and subjects to serve under another town. It's slowly making the game a little more interesting for me, since I'm more into politics and action RP then the flirty romantic stuff.

As for religions... Just come up with something new and refreshing, that has nothing to do with the boring OOC religious influences. Mix it with a little patience, and bored people will be bound to follow. (Good grammar helps ENORMOUSLY. There's a phenomenon in cantr where I swear 90% of wanna-be religious leaders IG haven't read a book in their life.)

Well most if not all 5 of my characters are almost 100% willing to follow. This makes it easier for me the player to accomplish things and not have to think to hard. One char could be a 'leader' but thats not the idea behind his actions. Its more like he sences the leader else where in the world. (DustPuppy that one you should know)

Most religious leaders IRL do tend to babble and make no sence to a logical person Dyl. However in Cantr it seems that they can neithor spell nor do they know the proper words to describe things. (Randomly guilty)

I enjoy the poitics and such as well Dyl. The flirty romantic stuff irritates me IRL so in game it results in me wan'ting to kill off my own character. Last one resulted in someone having some sort of nervous fit and leaving town. But because of his personality when someone said it wasn't his fault he didn't care.

Well I do say that as long as my characters goals are met I don't care if they lead or follow. I only have one character that might straight up appose the idea of following but he'd do it anyway just to see where it took him. He's naturally curious. And I only have one 'mule' as in he just gathers and exists but he's very active not a sleeper.

In 13 days (STUPID 40 DAY - THING ) I can give birth to my new creation. :)

dun dun dunnnn...the suspense is killing me. :)

One of my characters, who is normally a cold, heartless bastard (he got it from his former commander *cough*randi*cough*), Has fallen madly in love with a girl from the town he was kicked out of as a newspawn  now he's in the process of building a navy and he stopped at that town and doesn't want to leave because she's there. They were discussing the possibility of kidnapping eachother, and causing a general war.

Kidnapping each other to cause a war? That sounds like a great plan. Although I suppose it would be physically impossible for them to kidnap each other at the same time but still, I can just imagine the action that would ensue. Too bad I don't know any navies. I've never seen a real war either (in Cantr).

I've only ever seen the beginnings of a war, and they never lasted because one side or the other got completely wasted. But from what I understand a large one is about to begin somewhere. The whole kidnapping idea was for both of us to leave notes saying we got kidnapped by by a certain town and then take a ferry and leave. Everyone would think we were taken and then killed, and then they go to war.

This is probably more a dream than a realistic goal, but speaking of war....

I'd LOVE to see more wars being fought soldier to soldier, instead of mass vs mass. Then, when you invade a town, you only have to kill the soldiers, then round up the civilians, instead of being forced to massacre the town's entire population every single time.
