Wrap events in span tags with classes

Postby Arlequin » Sat Nov 15, 2008 7:21 pm

Plz.

So hunting events are wrapped in <span class="hunting">...</span><br><br> and so on.

That way client side styling can be cross language.

Might as well attach the classes to paragraphs, that would be shorter. If there is a double line break then a paragraph ought to be used instead even without classes being involved. The troublesome part is that there would be need for a new table in the database for event classes (unless every single different event type would be its own class - there are hundreds of them!) Btw how did you manage to post that code without the forum swallowing the class="" part?

Theres a tag code that forces the code to be visible, I just can't remember what it is lol.

I forget always about that checkbox too. :)

I fully and wholeheartedly support this. Myspace, although I hate it, is an example of the wonders that CSS injection can do... *sigh* but I suppose there wouldn't be any need for this if the events page could be properly customised.

I've got it customized by parsing the events, but it's an unnecessary complication. (I would upload a screenshot, but it would show current events. :P)

I thought of doing that too, but it seemed like too much work for the chance that it might all become useless if the events format was changed.
