If the time you don't spend online glancing at the CantrMonitor.exe tray icon or checking your characters every time they have a new event is mainly spent checking the forums for new posts or thinking of cantr-related projects to do.
If you put more time and effort into writing speech or notes for your chars or posts for the suggestions forum than you do for other, more serious work.
If you feel guilty about going to sleep when you chars have new events, but sad when you go to sleep with no new events.
(These are all real)

When you've actually seriously considered formulating a way to liquefy Cantr and inject it into yourself.
Or considered turning it into a perfume, a sort of pheromone perfume, to attract other players.
When you start saying "For the love of Jos!" in everyday conversation. And don't stop when someone points it out.

a few of these are not really addiction problem to cantr itself. more like a love for a good game. i have had dreams about cantr before.....literally. i dreamed i once logged in to see that some of my guys were dead, then after logging out and logging in again ( at least i think that's how it happened ) ALL of them were dead. but again, this doesn't mean you have a problem. maybe you just have racing thought syndrome and have had a really active day in cantr.
anyway.....you know your addicted to cantr when you have to get rid of your account to please your family but STILL go to the forums even though you have no intention of ever going back into the game. ( actual personal experience. )

People do that to me all the time.

Anyway. You're addicted to Cantr when you spend days in the kitchen just to cook 5000 grams of meat and then decide to live of that for a few years.

Actually its a questions too.
Have you even been playing a char for a while and then respond to something IRL like your char would?
Cause I did.
when your characters resemble a part of you it's hard NOT to do that.
I hope that aint true. The char response I gave was to one of my um...off chars. (Wait arn't they all off?) Anyway he's an idiot..kinda, doesn't speak correctly and is totally oblivous to his surrounings. God I hope thats not my subconcious bleeding into my char.
