A "hearsay" button for a event line.
It takes three seperate players (not characters) to create make an event become "hearsay".
There is an indicator on how many people have have pushed the event to hearsay.

"Hearsay" is still only an event and is only kept as long as other events, it is just an event that newspawns can see.

Should the same be true for people from a path or boat? Or even spread inside buildings? It sort of represents the unsaid town buzz.

Ugh, no offence but that's a terrible suggestion. The whole point of the game is for people to speak to each other and spread their own interpretations of events. Gossip is a very intricate process in which the story may be changed or embellished slightly every time it is retold. Some people might not repeat what they hear or see out of fear, or or on principle, and some people might embellish facts more than others or just come up with outright lies. So you see that you can't make character interaction "automatic" by homogenising certain events (that would make Cantr more like something like the Sims).

We already have plenty of people who upon being asked what happened would post a copy-pasted events log. Or if someone asks what did that guy say to you, the person answering will repeat it with gestures included. No one bothers to say "John said this and that and then he laughed, as if (insert my interpretation here)". People should learn to take the joy out of gossiping and telling with their own words what happened, or just say there was nothing of importance if nothing happened that would be worth repeating.

But they never left that village. So how do they know about iron? There are not much travellers there either.

My character knows about iron because of the locks she has seen.

I just wish more people would roleplay like this instead of playing Cantr to "win", if you get what I mean.

I agree with that completely, although I do admit I have slipped with some of my characters in that regard to one thing or another.

Considering the way the game is programmed, all the buildable items and such being right there for everyone to access, it would only be right that people assume their characters know how to build it. A way to combat that would be to introduce a "skill ladder" which would only allow the simpler projects from each category to be buildable, then as the character gains experience from building in one area (say clothing) more detailed options become available.

:') Oh my, these old suggestions just keep getting better and better...

No offense but the opnion of someone who uses rape as a punchline or game mechanic doesn't exactly have a point of view most would find important.

...because they are not logged in. From a quick traveller's perspective all Cantr towns are exactly the same. Filled with silent people.

They say that with silence.

I defy anyone to go to a place with a 2nd character, ask what is going on, and wait to see how long the response takes or if there is any merit in the responses at all. (you should then move that 2nd character away unless you are really good about being two people in the same place).

Normally it's like

...extended comedic spoon fight...

...Newspawn...

Newspawn says "Hello me be Newspawn"

Someone says "HI I'm whoever"

and that's it if they even get that much.

The game is too slow of causal conversation unless your willing to spend a game year.
