While traveling about on foot through long, winding roads, my character and her companion wondered about the feasibility of containing vehicles such as bikes and small cars on large ships. Perhaps they would have to be tethered down, so as not to roll off the deck, so there would be a need to construct large ropes and vehicle facilities on, say, a galleon or other large ship that could conceivably carry a heavy, iron vehicle. I'd imagine there would have to be a large ramp on the boat as well, to let the vehicle drive out. It would be one step closer to better life on a boat, letting crews step off to land and drive off to gather resources before a long journey, as well as ensuring that a poor Cantrian who wanted to sail around wouldn't have to leave his expensive motorcycle behind in a crime-ridden location. Is there no way to program this?
It might be unbalanced though, especially if pirates could sail around and decimate populations and raid with vehicles...Let us discuss.

Actually, even if pirates are aloud to do that, I don't see it as much of a problem. I suggested this a while back and I was told that it was going to be implemented sooner or later. O.o Besides, it'll require some populations to band together, forming wastelands and wildernesses across Cantr and creating more and more large cities which will have to form active militaries and navies in order to protect themselves and anybody on a resource run in hostile land.

Ack, did you already suggest it? Shame on me, I only checked the suggestions forum before submitting this idea. Forgot to examine the accepted suggestions, unfortunately...
Hm...but Cantr doesn't always have a huge amount of people, or even awake people, so banding together might be difficult. Perhaps make it harder to play as a pirate?
Heheh, it's probably already pretty hard.

I think it's in accepted suggestions but I doubt there's no one around who could actually program it. Also isn't it bad enough that there are people going around in galleons collecting abandoned boats - now it would extend to bikes as well. Although then people who have a bike and a boat could take the bike along on the boat. On some regions I've noticed this fashion of leaving longboats unlocked and with the key inside because most people who happen by won't be interested in the boat, only it's contents.

The ProgD process is currently entirely broken, yes. We're all waiting for something to happen on that front.
I would very much like to see bikes, carts and motorcycles on boats, but it's currently not possibly to move a location like that. The exact same problem currently prohibits something like a tent and the dismantling of largely useless vehicles (wooden cart) as well.

¿no seria posible que algunos vehículos (bicicletas, carros de madera y motos) fueran portátiles (como las herramientas y algunas maquinas)?
eso sería la clave para mover vehículos dentro de otros que tengan espacio suficiente

That would be the key to move into other vehicles that have enough space

I was thinking some time ago that it might be possible to add an action for bikes and simple vehicles to break them down into a holdable item. This could even be possible for the smallest water vehicles. Unfortunately, there are issues like how to handle locks, etc., and also adding a custom action like that would take intervention from ProgD (not just RD) so it is not possible until other issues are resolved.
Basically, there is no code whatsoever for deleting a location (vehicle, building, or other) under ANY circumstances. The reason there is no rot for vehicles, buildings, etc, even though they can have "brand new" descriptors, is because the game still has no idea how to handle destroying them. There are no rules for what happens to the stuff inside, what messages are displayed, how to remove the entries from the database, etc. Before any progress can be made on collapsing and carrying small vehicles, there will have to be some set of rules for how to handle a disappearing location in general.
