My math has not improve one bit, mostly because i'm good enough at math so that i can do these simple plus and minus equations. English, hasn't improved a much, the most i have done was look up a word that doesn't exists, because some guy messed up with the word. Improving my speech....nope, i got funny things to say to some people, thats a plus....it kinda made my typing better, but thats also ture of me IMing a friend

Are you trying to tell me that before you played Cantr you knew how to make iron or steel? How about the functions of a government, did you know how hard it was to lead a town?

   How did you and your girlfriend get together in the first place then? :D

Something that women don't know is that they love the guy who talks in mostly grunts. I'm in a heavy metal band and the ladies love the fact that they can't understand a word I'm saying. Maybe they're pretending I'm saying "I love you, and want to buy you flowers," when I'm really saying "I want to viscerate you and play in the blood for hours!"

@Lone Wolf: Yes, I did know the basic ingredients for making iron and steel. Granted, this probably is not true of the average Cantr player, but still. I had a basic idea of how complicated leadership could be from my various attempts at it in school. If anything, leadership in Cantr is simpler than I imagined it in real life.

I don't think it's educational. If you go on the forums a lot it can be because of all the debates going on, but if all you do is juggle a dozen characters it's not too educational. Human nature can be learned just as easily in real life. As a matter of fact, human nature is somewhat distorted in Cantr for various reasons (less reward and much less punishment for what happens to characters, the ability to start new characters), so it might not be a very good place to learn about human nature. Math and Cantr have very little to do with each other. If you know enough math to work behind a counter at a McDonald's you know enough to get by in Cantr. Political science is something Cantr might teach, but I don't think one learns that without actually paying attention to what goes on. If one plays Cantr like a regular online game (get a weapon, travel around and bash things), that never really comes into play.

I've learned a lot from simple cantr governments how stuff somewhat works in real life.
I just can't stop coming back....

I already knew how to make steel.....from history class. You should already know how hard it is to lead a town.

What do you mean math has little to do with cantr...
Did you even notice the economical impact the change from iron to hemitite...that and conducting commers needs math too .... 300g of wood can be used as a median for trade for almost anything if you know the fair trade. Simple equations can be used to ease your calculating on how to pay your workers on projects and drills....my goddess...if you didn't get any educational items from cantr it's cause you didn't realize it or you didn't try to improve them. Damn if you really tried you could use cantr to learn a new language...
Somehow you strayed and lost your way,
and now there'll be no time to play,
no time for joy,
no time for friends
- not even time to make amends.
You are too naïve if you do believe life is innocent laughter and fun.

all those calculations are umm... not very complicated.... cantr is not really helping me learn how to solve a second order linear differential equation....

i'd like to say that cantr is educational becuase i like cantr and i would like to be able to better justify the time i spend playing it, but improving my math is definitely not something it's done. it's good for psychology, though i would agree it's not exactly like real life in that regaurd.

@glasswalker: Medium, not median. Too much math now?

*ends stupid ad hominem attack*

Come on, you don't need Cantr to learn how to do currency exchanges.

Just becuase people think cantr can be educational does not make them dumb. When i did my work in school i always got a's b's on it. the rest of the time i didnt bother. That leads me to this, I think cantr is/can be educational.
