So, why not?

I believe only full members of the progD have the access to fix it, if they're not active, then no one can do anything about it.

According to the departments page this means either marol, Jos, or Chris Johnson

looks the same to me: 7 aspirants (half of whom I don't believe I've seen active on the forums), Jos, a member, marol, the chair, and Chris Johnson, vice chair, and a special member, Junesun from languages.

Does anyone know the significance of the greyed out names?

Now that you mention it, I don't know the significance. I assumed it meant, "no longer working with us."

It's probably more something like "on the leave". If a person wants to leave the departement for good the name could simply be deleted after all.

Gray means their account timed out, as far as I know. The list needs to be updated manually and someone's not doing their job. Would it really be so catastrophic to give some aspirants more room to work? Armulus is a pro, he might be able to figure out what's wrong if there weren't such strict limitations.

It's a tough call to make. A full progD member could seriously abuse their position, although surely there should be ways to combating this?

Maybe the way the progD works needs to be looked at to reflect the way members come and go... in fact, the whole game admin could probably do with being more agile and adaptable, then again, it's hard to tell what the game admin are actually doing due to the lack of admin/player communication, the progD is just more obvious because when they're inactive (or unable to help) it's more obvious.

The grayed out names are probably accounts that expired cause mine's one of them... :?
But I came back a few weeks ago (with a new account which is why the name's still gray) and have already completed a task marol gave me, and I'm still available to work, but marol seems to be having some lack of time lately cause I haven't heard anything from him since I finished my task, the scripts I changed haven't been uploaded to the game yet, and he still hasn't said a word about this bug...
Let's hope he get's back fast cause he's the only one active member from ProgD with full acess to everything needed to solve this, I think...

Just to explain - I suspended my activities due to continuous disrespect of some part of Polish community. I am very upset now and I'm not going to be back unless two most offending players unsubscribe or someone bans them.

Skulty, I am sorry for delay. I will commit your code to prod. env., but I am unsure about future cooperation. Grayed out accounts are expired ones or unsubscribed (like mine).

Skulty's code notwithstanding, I'm not sure what the programming department aspirants should do at this point. I'm not even sure who we should ASK about what we should do at this point.

Ok, I understand... I hope everything get's solved fast so you can come back... But if that doesn't happen, something needs to be done, you're pretty much the only active full member from ProgD, if you're out, someone's needed to keep the ProgD working... :?

Very sorry to hear that, and at the same time understandable.

Without meaning to insult your intelligence, if you haven't already done so, perhaps you should mention it to the PD. They may be able to help

Doug R. wrote:Honestly, I think it's pretty obvious that the characters aren't lighting up. The lack activity is not due to people being ignorant of new activity, but of a general lack of will to check every character every time they want to play. I've decreased my activity also, simply because having to check every character for new events manually burns minutes, and the MYSQL errors are really annoying to look at.

I think a lot of people see the long list of errors and never even bother to scroll down and see that you can play. They just log back off.

So will someone just fix this already... Give an Aspiriant access to the database... and fix it. This is a pathetic display, really accenting the terrible state that Cantr is in.

Understand completely. I've been there.

unfortunately it's most likely a higher issue than PD. PD does not ban, (can only suggest a ban). PD only suspends accounts for certain lengths of time on offenses until matters are resolved with a player, anything more is the GAB or higher, not PD.
