war would be cool
I think it would be nice if when ur health hits zero percent u become wounded instead of dying and u cant do anything anymore.then if people want they should be able to heal you with foods but it would take 2 to 3 days to do so.i think this would also help with some people talking about how there isnt enough fighting in the game because honestly the peace can get boring. i think this is a very good idea.or there could be a option to spare the enemy if there health hits zero.that way if a town is invaded or conquered then it would be nice if all the inhabitants that are willing to work under there new empire would still be alive after the fight.

That would be good. Just make them deaf to events, too, or someone will bring up the chance of rape again.
Also that could be combined with bleeding or natural healing, then a person wouldn't have to hang at 70% forever if no one heals them. If there was natural healing, they would eventually recover enough to move again, or if there was bleeding, they would die. I simply hate it when people have over 50% damage and act as if nothing was wrong.

Too many people don't realize this.
You almost have to play a character for 4 years (RL) to get them up into their 90s. That's a little over a quarter of my life so far :p By that time, people should be ready to accept change. Or so you'd think. There should defnately be a chance for "very old" characters to die naturally from old age.

yea that sounds good
just make people *unconcious from bloodloss*if they hit like 20% health then make every 2 hours (game time) there unconcious there health goes down by 1% and then they if someone wanted to finish them u could have volume go FATALITY lol jking but yea then anyone could take there stuff and rob them.....or u could just put natural healing in the game so they heal after a day or so and can move again to go get help either way i think is a very good idea

Yes, I always wanted this, although there also always has been serious resistance against it, especially by, obviously, players with old characters. In the end it has never been implemented. The idea is that implementing death from old age would only hurt the people that are in fact the most loyal to the game, which seems cruel and not very smart, if you already have dwindling player numbers
But I agree with all the arguments in favour, still ...

Jos, players have proven time and time again that when their accounts are deleted, they usually just get back up and start playing again. If you made the age limit 200 years, that is perfect. It is a massive amount of time, more than enough to accomplish! With that amount of time, a player who has been living since day 1 wouldn't even be dead yet. Technically, if you do the math, that is a little less than a decade of playing.

No, you underestimate how mad that would get people with the game. People should be rewarded for living a long time, not punished. You also underestimate how awesome it would be for there to be a character over 200 years old. I don't like the idea of working forever for something only to lose it because of old age. 200 rl years, sure, but not 200 Cantr years. I realize that that is definitely old in real life, but it shouldn't be compared in such a way.
For having a wounded character instead of death, I think something like that should be implemented as soon as possible.

The old characters hold onto power for way too long most times. Hopefully the immortal elders will get knocked off here and there by rebellious groups. Then things can change... Plus it'd be way more fun that way
The funny thing about the cantr psyche is that the old characters in power would never in a million cantr years, step aside from power. They'd rather die. And when they die, the player will stubbornly quit the game. It's silly.
It's especially silly, because the politically static nature of the cantr world takes a chunk of fun out of the game. Constant and eternal war is definately not the answer for that problem, but wow.... I mean, when EVERYthing in the game stays the same for a real life six months? Gets bland.

If one person is in power you are right they aren't going to step down. Then again. If the one person in power is doing a good job, most people would not want them to step down. Any leader who kills people and doesn't do a good job will most likely be killed before they can reach old age anyways.
But as it was said before. Cantrians are not humans so they should not be bound by human age. I think any of those people who have a character that even makes it to the age of 200 would nearly be marked as a legend in the world or something of that nature. I'd even possibly suggest another age group for every 40 years or so.

As for those who don't like the amount of power older characters hold. if you don't like it IG - do something about it IG. Otherwise, they're probably powerful not out of virtue of being old (I have two 90+ charries, neither of which can be said to be powerful) but out of playing the game well and with dedication. Some town leaders are only in their thirties, and have become powerful similarly out of dedication to playing.
Age does not equal power.
Anyway, though I like the idea of old age, I agree with Jos that it would not be a intelligent move. It might be true to the premise of Cantr, but I know that I'd be pissed off if my characters died because of an arbitrary value in the database - especially as the only reason I still play (and I imagine this is the same for manY) is because of the couple of old characters I still have.

Well, at the rate cantr is going, there won't be much people left. Also, The old are few and the young are many. Gain trust while young and thrown down the rulers if you must.
Also, as the old get expert at everything, the newspawns spawn with their skills.
Something I have noticed in Cantr, a group of people that kill off everyone in the group that isn't expert in some kind of skill, to route out the weak to make the strong. Sorry, off topic.

When you hope for something, you often believe in something. When you believe in something, you often have pride in it. Being proud often leads to a hating of some group.
