What Computer Upgrade?

Postby IrishGuy » Sat Jul 12, 2008 6:09 pm

I have a bit of an unusual dilemma, ive just sold my xbox 360 so have a bit of cash and i would like to spend some of it on upgrading my pc.

I bought a 8800 GTS 512 GFX card last week and i have 4gb of good ram, a 5000+ Black edition athalon 64 X2 Processor, good Mobo, great monitor and mouse setup so im lost as to waht to actually upgrade!

I dont think a better cpu would be worth it as ive clocked mine to 3GHZ per core thanks to my water cooling setup and to upgrade my mobo it would have to be worth it!

any suggestions? :)

Well, if you need more space another harddrive. Maybe some speakers if you like, a small surround set? If you don't need any of those, just hold on to your cash until your next upgrade.

I have an idea...why don't donate this money to an orphanage or something like that?

The Core Duo quad chips are supposed to the best bang for your buck, though it'll need a new motherboard and possible memory, but I reckon if you shop around you could get the CPU, M/B and RAM for around £200. Some places do deals on that type of bundle too.

Spend it on a surprise gift for your girlfriend

Never hurts :-P Well, it could, depending on what you get
