Problems with the visual map in the location screen

Postby berserk9779 » Wed Mar 24, 2004 6:39 pm

I am having problems with the visual map in the location screen. I seem to be able to check the map of some char only. When i get to one of my chars travelling in the desert, the visual map of all the other (with a coúple of exceptions for my older chars) gets all yellow too. This has been happening for quite a long time now.....

I had a similar problem - I think it was just a caching issue though.

I've even found for the past week or so if I select my browsers back button to go to the chat listing screen and then pick another char I often end up going back to the character I was just in...

That is it exactly.

You have to use the button in the game to go back to the player screen to get the right location information to show up.

Important for hunting too.

You should see that the character name does not change either when the problem occurs due to the way the clicking in done.

This may not be "exactly" the problem, but I'd say Cache problem as well. But, doesn't Cantr have some form of code in to prevent old cache pages to show up? I'm pretty sure it does. But no matter, just incase there isn't, you can follow the steps below to get your browser to download the page, new or not, every time you visit it. (This is for Internet Explrer 4.0+ and above) You must be warned! Using this will cause pages to take longer to load (Since it's downloading a new page EVERY time). You use this setting at your own risk.

-----

(Ie 6.x) Go to Tools > Internet Options...
(Ie 4.x + 5.x) Go to Edit (I think? Maybe File?) > Internet Options...
Or you can enter Internet Options from your Control Panel.

Within the frame "Temporary Internet Files" click "Settings..."

Make sure the bubble option "Every visit to the page" is selected, and Ok your way back to IE.

You may need to restart your browser for the settings to take effect.
