How Disapointing, Cantr Fails in a BIG way

Writing about Cantr in other forums definitely would be a good idea. It would spark interest in the game, especially if people here of advanced societies, unexplored regions, etc. etc.

A very good post, marginoferror, and I agree with pretty much all of it.

For me, a perfect example of what is wrong with Cantr for me is this thread:

A suggestion that I made in November 2006 to improve one of the many incredibly annoying interface features in Cantr. It gets put into its own thread by another player, then discussed by a few more, including even making a possible useable image for the coders to use, ending finally with agreement from people and from Jos himself.

And then nothing happens. When it's bumped because nothing's happened, the bumper gets told off. And then nothing happens again. Eventually, after numerous bumps and six months of waiting, it's moved from Suggestions forum to Accepted Suggestions, where it's been sitting ever since.

So the result is that the people who spent the time discussing and coming up with a solution have wasted their time, and I still have the infuriating annoyoance of having to deal with the original problematic interface.

And I'm not trying to have a go at programming dept for not implementing it, as I know they're (if there are still plural programmers in there) busy. But sadly it doesn't stop it being a problem.

Oh - and add to all this the fact that I've had to try numerous times to post this thread because the forum is so slow as well that it keeps hanging or going 404 error on me whenever I click Submit. *sigh*

Edit: except bizarrely, it did in fact post it, just never showed it, so it must have submitted but not been able to load the page showing it posted, so now I have to go back and delete all the duplicates...
