Variable Winds?

Postby saztronic » Sat Jun 21, 2008 3:55 am

Has something been implemented in the last couple of months that varies the speeds of boats somewhat at random? I'm on a boat with a weight that has remained consistent over the past two days, but the speed of the boat has varied widely over that time. I've noted at least three different speeds, and I can't account for the difference.

Any ideas? Variable winds? Currents and tides? Glitch? The LSD I took is finally kicking in?

And don't tell me I need to find out in game, I will hunt you down.

That is all.

It's not lag or anything. I'm measuring speed using the indicator that shows how far you will move (or have moved) in a given move segment.

I see this as well, but it's only off by one or two from how I set it. I've been trying to sail two ships together, raker with sails and empty galleon, so matching the speeds is tricky. This hasn't helped. In most cases however, it doesn't matter much.
