Irigation

Postby Anthony Roberts » Mon Mar 22, 2004 10:48 pm

In way back when, I dunno, type days time period... they used cut out logs to create a flow of water from one location to another to allow larger crop fields and such.

With a bit of creative thinking, this could be in the game. Timber (The new 'Logs' resource) could be used to "Improve a road" so that logs go from one location to another. The starting part needs to be at a location with water (Bordering a sea, or has the Water resource), and the ending part can be anywhere. Then, at this other place, the Water resource could be harvested and a random crop (Based on the place that the water flows from) could appear at that location. Then, the Irigation could continue everywhere, creating new water spots and food to grow! HORRAY!

Of course. This wouldn't work, would it? It would requier too much added coding and such... Oh well.

I don't like the idea of leading salt water from the oceans into the crop fields... :)

Agreed. Using Lake Water only, or Water Resource.

Yes I have seen a lack of use for quite a few things, but maybe I just haven't found them. For example what is gold used for besides trading and looking shiny?

Ummm. Shiny? It looks green to me. :?

But you might be able to hit someone over the head with a lump 'o gold...

//edit. Oh well... You might want to check the manufacturing page forsomething that might need gold. or silver and makes a nice addition to your appearance.
