Drying Racks

Postby Tangential » Fri May 30, 2008 6:02 pm

Usually projects on drying racks are automatic except for things like potatoes, right?

But.. my character just tried making 700 grams of meat jerky and it required four times the amount of meat (2800 grams) as opposed to the usual two times the amount (1400 grams).. AND it is manual..

is this new? -_- because now my character must work 28 days for 700 grams of meat jerky (because I accidently added the meat in the project before I realized my blunder) *shakes fist angrily*

Yes, it is very new. Just changed 45 minutes ago.
It's automatic with manual assistance, so it's still progressing automatically, just 25% of the speed as before. If you assist manually you can double that rate.

That's cool. It will lower Drying racks value, a lot.

Think you could put something in the implimented suggestions then? In one of my characters town, meat jerky is a big thing and I as leader wouldn't have known anything about this unless today happened to be one of the few days I look at the support threads.

Yes, good idea. I posted about the changes here.

It needed doing, but I just found out the hard way and my char will be sitting in front of the rack for a couple of years now!

Characters are also eating more meat jerky per day — 47 instead of 22 grams. I think that changes like these should be announced at least a few days ahead of time. Some people depend on things being a certain way and make plans accordingly.

It's still is automatic. You have a choice of helping, but you don't have to.

I agree, I thought my character was getting sick.

Ha! And my chars stocked jerky for a year or two, only 22, it was too good to be true!
Something changed in our consumption of smoked meat as well, 44 a day is required now when it used to be 22.
