You should be able to see if someone is carrying more than a specific amount of a resource. Like:
"You see a man in his thirties. He is carrying:
* a bone shield
* a bone spear
* a huge amount of sand
"
Not the specific quantity, only a big mass. Because if I can see a small tool, why not 10kg of potatoes?

SekoETC wrote:Sounds like a good idea but how would you define a large amount? Also containers should conseal the stuff that's inside them, but they should also get visible if they contain a total that's considered notable.
I don't particularly agree with the container bit. You can't really tell exactly what's in a container unless it's transparent.
And I don't really see a reason to add "a large quantity of", but I guess it could be interesting. It could get messy on the char page though. And would it require some programming?
Speaking of messy on the char page... I still wish that clothing were shown as what they are, "leather boots" with a bubble that pops up with the description when you hover over it. It would look a little nicer that way.

Characters sure don't hold the resources they carry in their bare hands (try holding 10K of sand in your hands
). For role playing purposes i assume they are stored in some kind of basic container, like a sack or a bag.
You cannot see what is in the bag, so you should not be able to discern what kind of resources a character carries by just watching. All you could (realistically) see is whether a character carries little (a total of 0-7,5 K) or a lot (over 7,5 K).

Hermi, I didn't mean that you would see what's in the container, I meant just that if the total of resources inside is significantly high, it would say that it was bulging or something. Since you can certainly say when a sack or bag has something inside, even if you couldn't tell what it was. Sorry if my wording was confusing.

That doesn't quite work because hard-coded containers exist and require materials and time to make. I think you have to accept that Cantrians do indeed carry hard-to-hold-in-RL things in their arms. File it under "Cantr is different from the real world." It's best not to dwell on little details.

The amount that would be considered a large amount can be discussed. And it will not mess the char page, because there is no way to carry large amounts of more than 2 ou 3 different resources.
And yes, Cantrians carries everything in their hands, or telepathically. Otherwise, I could never hold 20 shields, collect spinach and hunt at the same time.
