GRRRR!!!!
Come on people if your going to vote you should make a comment!!!!

Somehow you strayed and lost your way,
and now there'll be no time to play,
no time for joy,
no time for friends
- not even time to make amends.
You are too naïve if you do believe life is innocent laughter and fun.

Uh... What're you talking about? Yesterday I started with 300... That was MORE than enough. And the server is barely moving for me as it is. I don't think more minutes are necessary. I'm glad at the limit because it keeps me from wasting my life on a game as I DO have other things to do.

I live in the games....
You may have other things to do and so do I but I like playing the games I play. All the time I play. It is my life to waste my way. It will channge little of the time I was on the computer or in my games. The only thing it would effect is weather I am wasting my life here or wasting it on some other site. I would perfere to waste it here but I'm still going to waste it.

I'll ask again...
Humur me a second. What unfair advantage would someone get?

Yes, very so. Beyond commom belief, just if you agree w. something doesn't mean I shall disagree.
But normally it's like this:

I think this is the 58th topic that restarts the discussion about the time limit. I will again (& again & again) give my opinion.
First of all: YES, the time limit has been created long ago, when server problems arose due to the growing amount of Cantr players and thus a growing amount of data traffic. So let's be happy with the time limit: it means we have a lot of players. And YES, Cantr is run by volunteers and is free of charge for everyone, so we do not have that much money to rent the best server you could think of. So YES, all donations are very welcome - even to be able to rent the current server!
Secondly: NO, Cantr will never (I hope) give more possibilities in the game to players who donate money, compared to players who do not donate. Cantr is a free game for everybody, not only for people able to pay. Again: donations are more then welcome, but only to run the game for everyone, not only for the people donating.
But thirdly: WHY do you guys never listen to the other argument for the time limit? Even if we will receive so much donations that we will be able to rent the best server, I hope we will not abolish the time limit. This limit is not only important for stability of the server, but also for stability IN THE GAME. Most players do play Cantr only once or twice a day. I presume 95% of the players do never reach their 200 minutes. But if there would not be a time limit, that other 5% of the players would play 24 hours a day, and would be going to dominate the game. TIME = POWER in Cantr. The game would be more fun for this 5% of players maybe, but not for the other 95%.
So, what I just wanted to say (again & again & again) is that the time limit is not that bad as it seems...

I think the time limit as set at 200 minutes is fine and dandy - I play somewhat active characters and play throughout the day and still if my minutes left dip below 100-120 I'm surprised.
Use your minutes wisely and you'll be able to stretch your minutes for quite a while.
1. Don't sit there and write Notes/Maps/Logs IC - use notepad and then cut & paste into it - total time cost <30 seconds....
2. You can stay logged in all day without buring minutes. Log in - watc your char screen - if something new happens don't click the name - close my browser, reopen it and log back in and then see what has happened. This will cost you 0 minutes. I'm guessing most of you just waste minutes by staying logged in when nothing happens - the best way to blow thorugh a tonne of minutes for nothing. Time advances when you click - don't click and you can save a lot of time.
Personally, with 12 active characters, in active areas I have no problems participting and expericencing a full DAY of play in less then 80 minutes. Meh could go on a 3-day bender and not reset the minuites and it wouldn't affect my play whatsoever.
Play smart and use your time wisely and you could have a fun, full game and only use a third of your minutes a day.

rebuttle
Based on the info from the Statistics Cantr II (public version) located on anyones player page.
I don't think your analysis holds a lot of water. It appears to me that most players use alot of there time on average 120 minutes to max.
Unless of course I miss understood the document.
In which case I apologize.
Secondly,
Time does not equel power in this game unless of course you mean the ability to talk to all other characters then your arguement is sound. But if you are refering to work or attackng then your wrong cause as it stands regardless of time limit you can only work on one project at a time and can only attack once per person per animal group in a 24 hour period.
Third,
I do try to conserve on my minutes constantly logging in and logging out cutting and pasteing. I might not be truly effective at as some of you maybe. Even so I still manage for the most part to use all my time with rare exceptions.
Fourth,
I never suggested giving special privilages to players that pay. I said give special privilages to everyone for achieving a goal like a fund raiser. That way those who can give will those who can't won't but all regardless of weather they could or could not still benefit.
Again,
I apologise if anyone is upset about this discussion but not everyone is going to agree on everything somepeoples views might piss you off but thats just it. It's just their views. Please don't let it get in the way of being friends. Cause all in all we all love this game and want to see it advance to greater and greater stations.
