To keep this from getting way off track of the original topic, I have made a new discussion about this little debate. Anyone interested in continuing, or following it can do so here

There is a grassland town where citizens are climbing on threes and hanging upside down on it's arms. To be worse they are making beer, "drink" it and then talking to each other and to the other people as they are drunk.
My character don't see any three there, maybe a few bushes but not a three, and beer is just a healing food for my character, nothing more. So, word annoyance is not enough to describe all what my character feel about that bunch.
For me, as a player, that's so bad RP that need to be considered as CRB.

I think a lot of players imagine the odd tree to be present in grasslands so that's nothing unusual there. But yeah, there's no side affect to drinking beer IG so drunkeness doesn't exist.

EDIT: Wrong thread for the rest.

If drunkenness doesn't exist as a formal physical state in the game you will have to RP it. Nothing wrong with that, imo, there is a lot that has to be RPed because of absence in the game.

Watching people get drunk in Cantr is so much more fun than in real life. I don't particularly like references to trees on grasslands unless there are resources (well, coconuts, any more? maple syrup?) that would suggest there should be trees.

If Bokez' character doesn't like the place then they may well leave or go indoors. But it's certainly not a CRB. I hate it when people are so strict about stuff not existing if it's not hard coded - Cantr is a very sketchy world so you need to fill the gaps with your imagination and real life knowledge. You know what alcohol does to people and Cantrians are people so of course they get drunk. But how come no one rp's getting gas after eating onions?

Maybe a random "You hear a man in his thirties farting." event should be implemented, similar to sneezing... or maybe it should be "You smell a man in his thirties farting."

*laughs so hard that he farts. Then blushes* Sorry....

I rp there is a tree in a town really close to the forest. In the map, the dot is really near to ir. And I like to make my charrie lean on that tree when he's working... In fact that's begining to be "His tree". :) And sorry bokez but the first thing I'll do when any of my charries finds beer is rping drunk, hehehe... And Cantr is a basic game, without Rp it'd just be empty... And a society simulator. Society has communication and bla bla bla...

I know this grassland you're talking about Bokez. I can't say I disagree that "swinging" from tree-branch to tree to tree is pretty unrealistic. I don't find that there is possibly trees there, unrealistic. Just the swinging bit.

Sorry but what grassland doesn't have some trees? I mean, really really think about it. There's grassland but every single location around it is a forest. Are you trying to tell me that this town has existed for 100's years IC and the tree's don't multiply?

Are you telling me you picture that the road between the grassland and the forest meets in the middle and that since one is forest and one is grassland, that there's grass fifty percent of the way up the road and then trees the other fifty percent? Perfect symetry? That would look absolutely silly in my mind.

Literally think about the real world and what happens when there's tree's nearby.

My inlaws live on 80+ acres of land and near their house it's nothing but trees but this last year I was putting a slide-show together for their 50th anniversary and I got to see pictures of the house/farm when they bought it. When they bought this house there weren't any trees in the direct vicinity of their house. They never planted ANY of them. Currently they're stripping the trees surrounding it because soon they're going to be drilling for coal------And my husbands gram said fifty years ago you could see down throuh the valley while I'm saying it'll be strange to be able to see down through there since I've never known this place to be anything but surrounded by trees. Yet, there's also a huge field pn top of the hill with no single tree in the middle of it.

Yeah, they don't get any trees directly in their yard, because they mow the grass and if they do see one sprouting the pull it out of the ground.

To act like a monkey in the middle of the grassland? Yeah. That's a little far fetched.

But to th ink there is not one single tree? Even if that tree happens to be on the corner of the street leading out of town to the forest? I wouldn't say there are "no trees' just because it says grassland. Unless you're trying to pretend that a town of fifty people and 40 buildings is on like one acre of land.
I hate people.

Lets see, by character...

(character) 1. No one.
2. Everyone.
3. No one.
4. No one.
5. No anyone in particular.
6. No one.
7. Foreign explorers...
8. No one.
9. No one.
10. Gooseberries.
11. Esto, Marcus Danning
12. Reclusive, everyone irritates him somehow.
13. People who avoid him.
14. No one.

It seems I am too nice...or very lucky.

alf, actually you kinda can, gas travels in a wave like movement unless there is a breeze. the person who smelt it first is closest. So the person at the center is the culprit usually :P

Picture this:
10 rude and sweaty blacksmiths all assembling the same machine inside a building therefore working close together... who would you point as the one? 8)
And there is also the fact that the responsible can always start blaming someone else first :P
